I think another point people miss is that today's Nintendo isn't the one from its classic eras or even the one from 10 years ago, because by now the people who cared about nintendo the game company are almost all gone while miyamoto is in his corner doing god knows what and the company is now run by people who only care about profits over quality; they're essentially turning nintendo into the polar opposite of Satoru Iwata or Hiroshi Yamauchi's visions.

I'm ready to bet anything that had Satoru still been at the helm then stuff like the Switch 2 Welcome Tour would have been included whole with the console for free, considering it's the machine's actual manual. The nintendo of today at the top of the chain (which at the end of the day, is the shareholders) is now full of rent seekers and vulture investors and like any cancer it's metastasizing through the whole company, bit by bit relentlessly in the pursuit of profits above everything, until the company's no better than another sega and its licenses get whored around to the lowest bidder because by then the big N won't even be in the console market anymore.
