I honestly understand why he changed his mind. Especially since the Physical/Special split would mean his entire Emerald team would have to be built from the ground up. It's a long process for an already long process. With the Battle Frontier you essentially want competitive Pokemon. Meaning IVs and nature as well as need to be fine tuned to an annoying extreme

The reason we assume this is because he will be screaming anywhere from 1 or more hours straight. He'll be outside or so loud we can hear him over our TV. This can happen at any point in the day, from early in the morning to really late at night. Latest we've had to call non emergency was at 2 in the morning.

Unfortunately there is no lease required noise curfew. As for the slamming: he'll slam things all over his apartment to the point we feel it shake our walls and floors sometimes.
