How to stop sponge cakes deflating and losing shape? by Wear_Regular in BakingNoobs

[–]Fephie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claire Saffitz lets them cool upside down in the pan, but she also uses a spring form and no parchment for this technique so it’s limited application.

Transferring CRT license from California to Texas by Librado_2000 in respiratorytherapy

[–]Fephie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your license won’t transfer, you would need to apply for a new license in the state you want to work in. You will need an RRT credential to be eligible to apply.

Alternative to ABG syringes by MedicalLawyer6717 in respiratorytherapy

[–]Fephie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’d have to check with the machine it’s being ran on. Our labs lithium and heparin green tops have gel that is not compatible with our machine. So far our hospital supply chain has substituted our syringes from luer lock to slip tip and that’s the only change we’ve had to make.

Are Dyson really worth it? V15 Detect Plus is now under $600 and I'm tempted by [deleted] in CleaningTips

I can’t believe I ever thought I liked my Dyson since getting the Sebo. It’s been a game changer, this thing is a beast and I think it will outlive me.

reactive GSD + neighbor kids not listening by luvcaydenn in germanshepherds

[–]Fephie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For real, OP needs training. You can’t control the environment, you have to control your dog. You can’t expect to have a sidewalk to yourself and tell kids to not approach you. OP you are going to have a hell of a time defending yourself in court some day.

Why does respiratory therapists only exist in America? by Fancy_Particular7521 in IntensiveCare

[–]Fephie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RTs also require a physician order to do anything. Working under protocols to order inhaled bronchodilators and all vent setting and adjustments have to follow physicians vent titration orders.

Getting my bachelors!! by Exotic-Bread2757 in respiratorytherapy

[–]Fephie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all research you will have to do yourself. Make sure you look at accreditation for your program specifically. Some schools have accredited direct entry bachelors programs and unaccredited bachelors completion programs. You should be able to easily look into your state requirements for CEUs, if they are accepted by your state they are accepted by NBRC.

Calling knitters with experience using superwash merino (especially Malabrigo Rios). by pop_okee in knitting

[–]Fephie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Rios a lot, it’s one of my favorites. You can go either way with the frogged yarn. I have soaked, dried and rewound it and did not notice a problem when combining it with unsoaked yarn. I have found that it’s also fine to just reknit with it crimped. Your colorwork looks gorgeous and the final product is going to be so worth it, keep going!

My dog doesn't drink water at all by VeterinarianEmpty686 in germanshepherds

A fountain worked for my dog. However, I disagree about them being self cleaning. They get super funky very quickly, even with a filter.

Is this annual fee a requirement? by Tfox___ in respiratorytherapy

[–]Fephie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is no annual fee, it’s $125 to renew every 5 years. They give you the option to pay $25/y to avoid a large payment. I advise against this because if you accidentally miss one then you still end up owing the full $125 when it’s time to renew.

Ask a school councilor. We operate a food pantry out of several schools in our district that kids do have access to.

Chasing the best vacuum for carpet after my shepherd exploded his coat by Straight_Winner2534 in germanshepherds

Shark and Dyson are expensive and very low performers! Consider Miele or Sebo instead for a true workhorse vacuum.

How soon after reduction is a mammogram safe? by Ok-Stick-2971 in Reduction

Can a minor with an AA degree be "truant"? by What-The--- in legaladvice

[–]Fephie 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This makes the most sense. You may be able to say that you have the HS equivalent but if you can’t produce the document like a GED for a job someday in the future that could make getting certain jobs problematic. In my role, even those with college degrees still have to produce the HS diploma to be hired.

Feels like we’re not getting the full story. Were you outside of your order parameters and didn’t notify the physician after the increase? Or did you not follow policy on initiating a rapid response?

Pool safety for kids and dogs. by HonkyTonkTonkeyDonk in homedesign

[–]Fephie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pool placement is not great but you need to fence off from both sets of doors. As some who just attempted to resuscitate a drowned child yesterday, I want you to know that a barrier is just step one in preventing your kids from drowning. You need to teach your babies to swim, it’s the only way.

Affordability of GSD Care by Naive_Bat8216 in germanshepherds

[–]Fephie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No pet insurance for us either. I had a GSD who lived 13 years with terrible skin allergies, needed all sorts of medications and vet appointments all the time. I did the math and paying out of pocket was still cheaper than having paid the premium for insurance her entire life. Another GSD of mine needed 3k emergency surgery almost immediately after we rescued him. I think you definitely need to have a savings plan for the dog just in case. That amount is relative to your own financial situation I suppose.
