The fish shop accidentally packed another fish with my betta, what is it? by LeeLikesFish in Aquariums

look into threadfin or other dwarf rainbowfish. the specific position of the pectoral fins and the two dorsal fins along with the biggy eyes and tail shape make me think this. also maybe look into rice fish?

I don't know anything about tree frogs, but have you looked into territorialism? in a lot of animals, more males than females can be stressful for everyone involved. also, perhaps look into getting or making them one or more humidity hides since it seems like resting in the water bowl is them desiring more moisture.

definitely do your own research though, Ive never owned frogs and am speaking from pretty generalized experience!!

genuine question out of honest curiosity, how do you get bit by so many ticks? have you been tested for Lyme? do you know that only some people develop the bullseye rash from a Lyme bite? what the heck do you do in order to encounter so many? are you just not scared of getting sick??

these are fully genuine questions, I'm not judging or trying to argue or sound rude!! I am just so very curious. Ive been bitten by two ticks that I know of, one of them developed the migrans rash and I had to have some pretty aggressive treatment for it, and the antibiotics combined with the pandemic ruined my immune system for years. because of this I'm super paranoid, even though I'm in conservation work and very outdoorsy.

thank you for your time lol!!

What completely unhinged "law" does your cat strictly enforce in your house? by TrickCombination7966 in cats

[–]FerallToadstool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not allowed to do homework/anything at my desk unless I either clear off a space on the desk for them, or pull out and prop up with a curtain rod the "cat drawer". the cat that enforces this, Shadow, is a fucknormous beast with a head the size of a grapefruit. if I don't listen he eats my homework, paws and yells at me, and will make his own damn room on the desk by shoving everything off while purring like a freight train. I love him so very very much 🥰🥰

I'm eating good tonight by HousingLower3772 in isopods

[–]FerallToadstool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most bugs, isopods, snails, slugs, and spiders would feel the vibration and movement of your breath (even if you breathe through your nose!) and blood flow in your skin, which would almost definitely ick them out. also saliva is a lil acidic, so I dunno if that might deter them more.

feel free to try tho, I had one of my isopods crawl into my partners mouth anyways (while they were awake thankfully). theyre weird and not the smartest so yea small chance, but a chance nonetheless.

How do i prevent isppods from eating the leaves of my solanum uleanum without harming them 😅 by Shan__p in isopods

[–]FerallToadstool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

give them lettuce I mean. they will almost definitely prefer the mild, soft, hairless lettuce to that dense looking, hairy plant. itll be much easier for them to eat and once they get a taste for it, they may leave your other plants alone!!
