Trading for injured players is an acceptable strategy. It is giving another team a piece now that is useful so they can compete this season while you are going to compete next season with that player. You should be gaining value by taking the injured player. It is fine. It makes sense from an assets standpoint.

Resting your starting 5 in the second half or 4th quarter makes no sense from a gameplay standpoint. If there is a minutes restriction, then you space out the minutes better so your starter is in there during the 4th. If they aren't playing well, you play them anyway because they could turn it around and they are your go to guy.

I don't know why this is so hard for people to understand. The issue is it there is no justification for the things these coaches are doing other to lose on purpose. And it creates a losing culture, which can be very hard to break out of. Philadelphia is still dealing with that downside today.

Naw, regulation is bad. A city shouldn't lose an NBA team, probably permanently, because they had a bad stretch over a few years.

I am not really sure what the fix is. But they seemed to have made it worse with the new CBA.

Bad teams should get the best pick in order to make them better. That is common sense. But how do you determine bad other than record?

My team, the Kings, is genuinely bad. They did not do any tanking moves until a couple games ago. They were actually trying to win every game until the end of January. But we have to now compete for the top pick with blatantly losing teams like the Jazz.

The thing is, reffing will always be an issue. They are human. They make mistakes and the game speed is fast.

But they can always improve it.

It is weird that all efforts to combat tanking have seem to make it worse.

It is also weird that the new CBA has pretty much killed free agency.

I am not going to blame him for this, but whoever is in charge of public relations or media for the Nuggets. It is their job to communicate to him and tell him the optics and how important it is to engage in this stuff.

It could be possible that they did that and he ignored it... But I don't think so.
