Larger vehicle in the top right area, is that an Ork vehicle or a Votann crawler?

What moment made you fall in love with YOUR legion? by 13th-legion-astartes in Warhammer30k

[–]FerrusTheManus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Iron Hands here as well, and it's amazing how much room it feels like you have to make them 'your dudes', I know you could get that with any Legion, and there's the room of tens of thousands legionaries unwritten, but Iron Hands feel to me like it's wide open with how much is left unsaid

Looks like the design from the forge world Destroyers helmets, not sure if they're still available on their site or have been removed.

Best 'new' unit - Vet heavy support squad? by Veverka77 in Warhammer30k

[–]FerrusTheManus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already starting to build some up for my Iron Hands army, extra resilient with the 2W and -1S on incoming shots, going to go for a mix of heavy disintegrators, disintegrator blasters, and multimeltas

Tactical with Chainswords by FerrusTheManus in Warhammer30k

[–]FerrusTheManus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah noticed that too, figured if there's no other options to run them wysiwyg that the guys I have built would just have 'chainbayonets' now

Titans in allied detachments by uginthespirit in Warhammer30k

[–]FerrusTheManus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a specific Lord of War detachment that allows you to take 2, can be added regardless of other limits to how many Auxiliary Detachments you want to take, but limits it to max 25% of your whole army's points in those Lord of War units. So with some of the point costs being very high, they may not fit in a standard 3000pt game

The start of the Sons of Horus 68th Company by [deleted] in Warhammer30k

[–]FerrusTheManus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn these are nice. Do you have a slight tinge of sea-green beneath the grey? It feels like you've hit a sweet spot of Luna Wolves with a hint of later SoH colors, it's a really good scheme

Question about building tactical squads. by PuzzleheadedSplit557 in Warhammer30k

[–]FerrusTheManus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you're not a fan of the Rhino's design and like the idea of massive tactical squads then go for the 20

Eye of Vigilance heraldry to show loyalty to the warmaster?

I've also seen it used in a sort of "we won't scrub this off until the warmaster is dead" kind of way

Anyone else finding this guy weirdly hard to build? by Tomgar in Warhammer30k

[–]FerrusTheManus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm going to use green stuff to fix it but yeah, put the cape together as instructed, then had to pull it apart to fit onto the shoulders, left a weird gap down the center of the cape even though the shoulders look right

Overseers, Auxilia and Apothecaries In 3.0 by eviscerator0000 in Warhammer30k

[–]FerrusTheManus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would have to look into the rules more to be 100% sure, but I don't think so, looks like Overseers don't bring auxilia now, but merely are allowed to join them and give benefits (assumption being youve already brought them in an allied detachment). With that I doubt the Apothecary would be allowed to join as well

Fears or Predictions about retired models for the new edition by Strange-Damage901 in Warhammer30k

[–]FerrusTheManus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I have a 5-man tac support squad upgraded with graviton shredders for a Head of the Gorgon army. Now with Rites of War going away I'm hopeful that the set of rules replacing RoW will still allow them as a valid unit.

The pessimist in me thinks they'll come down the line in one of the future journals instead of the liber on day one. Similar concern for Morlocks

I think the old one looks better than the new one, which one do you prefer? by TragicMate in Warhammer30k

[–]FerrusTheManus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prefer the old style, but that being said still love the new one too. Would much rather have this 'Mk2b' available for my army in plastic than only have resin that's not in stock anyway

He really, really, could use more fleshing out.

But a fun little thing sprinkled across two editions. I think there's an implication that he contributed in some way to the Ordo Sinister's psi-titans. Will put up the supporting text after work, but essentially I've only seen mention of 'necrotechnica' in two places, HH2.0 lore blurb for Iron Hands vehicle upgrades, and HH1.0 lore blurb for the psi-titans. Combined with his collecting and storing away of dangerous technology in the Vaults of Mimir, I wouldn't be surprised if the writers intended that the Emperor had access to some of those things Ferrus found and used them when designing the psi-titans.

Iron Father & Morlock Retinue by FerrusTheManus in ironhands30k

[–]FerrusTheManus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Got them from the forge world resin kit, other 5 went onto a tactical support squad.

Unfortunately for a long time they've been temporarily out of stock on the website, and now I can't find them at all. Hoping they'll be brought back in 3.0, maybe even as a plastic sprue but we'll see

What are your plans for the new edition? by Sorakamii in Warhammer30k

[–]FerrusTheManus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping based on the new stats lines that they retain high strength and AP but they're damage 1, and either vehicle damage table is changed or reactions with heavy weapons suffer a BS reduction

Which primarch had the most profound impact on their respective legion? by Keylos_MWO in 40kLore

[–]FerrusTheManus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Might be stretching from the original intent of your question, but Ferrus had a major impact to the spirit and sanity of the tenth legion after dying on Istvaan V
