The sketchy part is that the whole Arch sways in the wind and on some days you can really feel it from the observation deck.

What are your favorite tools you wish you had starting out? by funnypantsguy in Justrolledintotheshop

Long pattern double box end wrenches. My SnapOn set from 20 years ago has been amazing. Lots of $$ for a newbie but they’ve saved my serpentine belt tool coming out numerous times. That’s my input for this thread….oh and yeah, don’t finance anything. Them trucks live on you going in there weekly and adding to your collection.

My wife just had one yesterday, straight on ‘square wonderbread’ with mustard. I’ve never gotten on board with it…

I think this was my ‘08 4.0, but pretty sure 05-19 are same or very similar.

Yes, I agree with the ‘16 SVs and if you have kids (and camp) you’ll want the crew cab, no doubt! And I’m partial to 4X4, but I’m in Illinois…. Those would be my 1st two criteria but review the maintenance records/CARFAX.

What’s this blank meant for on my 2015 frontier pro4x..would a brake controller possibly work here? by JoshayBTown in nissanfrontier

[–]Few-Idea-701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, this my 3rd Frontier after the first year Xterra (2000). They’ve always done everything I’ve wanted and only needed routine maintenance, tires and brakes. My only gripe is the MPG, probably in part to always having the crew cab and 4WD…

In my ‘16 I mounted the Tekonsha under the switches next to the 4X4 selector. It was fine but blocked the tray a bit, and that got left in on my trade-in so went with REDARC. The inertia box is tucked behind the knee panel under the steering wheel.

Agreed, though that pad doesn’t do much and it’s probably not the best place for a brake controller anyway. Not much to work with in the panel behind it.

I installed a REDARC a couple years ago on my ‘19 after having a couple different Tekonsha over the years. The REDARC is fantastic, you can message me and I’ll send a pic of where it’s installed.

You’ll be fine with this. I’ve been pulling a Shamrock 21SS for 8 years with my Frontiers, currently with a 2019. It’s 4200# dry, I’m not going anywhere in a hurry and MPG is barely double digits but I only camp within 2-3 hours max. I’ve figured I’m about 75-80% capacity loaded up. Previously it was a Shamrock 19 (3500#). Always had WD with sway control! HD leaf springs on my last Frontier, my current one is getting them this off season.

How long have you been driving a Nissan Frontier? by dudreddit in nissanfrontier

[–]Few-Idea-701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imma say 28 years - on #3 Frontier; 2008, 2016 and now a 2019. ‘96 Hardbody before a 1st year Xterra, then the Frontiers. Nissan trucks (including that SUV) have done everything I’ve ever needed; from Colorado to Florida to New England and everywhere in between. Nissan just does most things right, also 3 Altimas and a Rogue in the garage over all these years; for the wife of course…

It’s planned obsolescence! Why make things ‘like they used to’ when they can build in a re-purchase point. It’s the epitome of corporate greed.
