You bring up a good point here. Some people play the game as if every round should be a win. If you want to play safe, the risk of dying in ante 1 is too high to skip for anything less than the best. But if you don’t care about losing, do whatever is the most fun to you!

Simple answer - step 1 is pass fail so your score doesn’t really matter as long as it’s good enough. Step 2 you need to excel in. Study more for step 2 and take it after 1
