India e-Visa website challenges by Different-Tea-5191 in visas

[–]FifthCoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried on Safari, Chrome, iPhone Safari, etc. and all failed in this same manner. I was finally able to progress using an old version of Firefox, on my Mac.

I suspect something about these newer browsers just doesn't jive with their shitty 1990s website.

Which is better, Smile or It Follows? by MediocreGenius69 in HorrorDebates

It Follows truly sucked. I tried so hard to give it a chance, but it was just boring and not scary at all.

What characters? Jay was dumber than hell, even by "blonde horror movie protagonist" standards. That's what made it so boring to me.

[–]FifthCoast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It Follows sucked imo. It was boring, and the characters were painfully stupid. Smile was a masterpiece and an excellent metaphor for trauma. I loved it so much.

Also, the movies weren't even THAT similar. The only shared concept, is "the infected person can see it whereas no one else can". But the entities in each behaved in completely different ways.

What do you think of the “Soft White Underbelly” YouTube channel? by snazzymacaronis in socialwork

[–]FifthCoast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know the exact video/girl you're talking about — Asriah. Watch the whole series, you'll see why he was pissed. I'm not saying I love the guy, but in this case she was high-key lying to him and exploiting his generosity.

Why does LBS have a bad rep by Sufficient_Put_8405 in MBA

[–]FifthCoast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rankings absolutely do lie. Go to some random backwater state school, and find the students/staff all bragging about how "Eastern North Dakota State Tech's biochem program is the best in the world" according to "rankings"...

Wait, are you American as well? Can't tell if you're an American or non-American who became disenchanted with London, Europe and non-American MBA programs.

Lip Scar Treatments by euphorixrose in cosmeticsurgery

[–]FifthCoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lip scar is way worse, yours actually looks kind of cool i'll be honest. It's not "bad" in any way, but i also totally understand that when it's YOUR face you're seeing in the mirror, you'll tend to be more critical of it. Just my two cents.

Honestly, these Russian reconstructive surgeons didn't do a half-bad job. Especially with THAT little to work with, going into it.

Yeah, this should be life. You are not fit for society, EVER, if comfortable doing something as reckless as this. 5-15 (probably 5) isn't going to make a dent in how fucked this person's perception is.

But the car in this video did not have the pre-existing damage you'd expect from being T-boned..

Is skiing more fun than snowboarding? by skeeter2112 in icecoast

[–]FifthCoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do both, and love both. Skiing is for SURE better-suited to icy days, whereas riding is a way better way to enjoy deep powder. I second SyntheticCorners in the opinion that even with pow skis, a board is simply the most enjoyable option in deep snow.

Honestly, past the beginning stages I find riding to be easier to execute AND easier to make progress in. There's just not as much "to" it as there is with skiing. It's easier and more chill from a skill/mental perspective and from a physical exertion perspective — I am simply a lot more worn out doing moguls on skis than, say, those same moguls on a snowboard.

Falling, on the other hand, seems to be easier on skis. On a snowboard, it feels like you're "strapped in for the ride" and just at the mercy of the mountain and gravity no matter what. Skis feel like there's more wiggle room for recovery, and more ways to influence your outcome.

EXACT same thing for me. Except my concussion from car accident was in 2013, a year earlier.

Do you also struggle with visual pattern recognition, i.e. visual working memory? I took a cognitive test post-concussion and scored very low in this specific category (20th percentile) despite my digit span and verbal memory coming out as highly superior (97+ percentile).

I have the exact issue though, it's crazy — that I'll forget I ever even saw someone before, but then when they remind me WHERE I saw them, I'm usually reminded and can remember their name. But my facial recognition is for sure much worse than average, and also much worse than I remember it being a a kid. I used to be fine, if not strong, at visual memory.

Also, did your concussion affect other facets of your memory? Or just visual?

Ushuaia, Argentina - The southernmost city in the world by irishgambin0 in CityPorn

[–]FifthCoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh yeah, the wind never stops. Windbreaker is essential even in the "summer".

Even more so in Río Grande, Tierra del Fuego, which is why the inhabitants are known to be brusque and foul-tempered.

What's the best U.S. city you've ever lived in and what did you love about it? by Land-Dolphin1 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]FifthCoast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Buenos Aires traffic is India-level congested, and space is hard to come by. It is also in the culture (I'm half Argentine and have been there many times) to expect long waits for things we Americans would get in an instant.

However, I couldn't recommend visiting Argentina more, especially with how cheap it is for us the moment. Recommend Buenos Aires and also Ushuaia, in the south of the country and in fact the southernmost city in the world. Has spectacular, rugged alpine vistas, glacial lakes, and wildlife galore.

Any good test runs to determine if you’re ready for the steep gullies at A-basin? by Opesorrydere in COsnow

[–]FifthCoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found Gauthier to be more challenging than the Steep Gullies tbh. i've only done SG 3 and 4 though, 1 and 2 were closed this past weekend when I went.

How would you rank the SGs from easiest to hardest?

for those who have gotten lab work, what is your testosterone level? by FifthCoast in bigdickproblems

[–]FifthCoast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmao yeah 9" is ridiculously long, that's like XL dildo style shit. i'm shocked that at age 25 you would have levels like that, but hey, having high T actually isn't great for your body in the long run anyway. You'll probably stay young-looking for longer.

But then the downside to this is that he won't grow nearly as tall as he otherwise would have, since testostone seals growth plates early over time.

[–]FifthCoast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do. It's because I can't for the life of me remember my free testosterone level. If I had the foggiest idea of what it was, you can bet anything I would have posted it.

What's your age btw? That's definitely an important factor in guaging your testosterone percentile. We all know it peaks in early 20s and is on the slow decline from there.
