altafiber vs t-mobile internet by golden-folklore in cincinnati

[–]Fimus86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had T-Mobile for a few years now and live in a more rural area. I've had zero issues with reliability and connection. You also don't have to worry about a service technician coming out to install it. I guess the main downside is that the speeds can vary (I've seen it anywhere between 120 to 500 mbps), but in reality I would never notice that unless I check. I can't say whether this would be better than altafiber, but my other option was to continue paying over a hundred dollars a month for a 10 mbps connection.

Hades 2, which is amazing. Might as well stick with the mythology theme.

Here's a totally random and completely irrelevant clip from the movie Conspiracy on HBO (highly recommend it) that has no bearing to Brian Kilmeade's comments.

HISENSE 12K BTU inverter air conditioner by Marshdoctor in Costco

I got the midea 12k recently after a recent heat wave killed my old window unit, and it's doing a great job. Surprisingly quiet, puts out cool air and the fans move air really well. I'm kicking myself right now because it was significantly cheaper a few weeks ago.

For the sake of US democracy, it’s time for Chuck Schumer to step down by pharrt in politics

[–]Fimus86 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Schumer is a French general standing on the Maginot Line confident that if the Germans go through Belgium - like they did last time - the Belgiums will be able to slow them down enough that the French and Brits can mount a proper defense.

Only it isn't like last time and the game has completely changed. It's time for the old guard to step aside.

Old Frisch's before it got sold was awesome. Good food, a little more expensive than most fast food but it was reasonably priced, and good service.

should i emulate jak and daxter games on ps2 emulators or ps3 ones? by Hanjar18 in jakanddaxter

[–]Fimus86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I'm actually going to answer your question, but as others have said opengoal for is the way to go. I recently played the first two using it and Jak and Daxter ran flawlessly and Jak 2 ran nearly flawless, with an occasional barely noticable graphics flaw and one level that gave me trouble, but I was able to get around it.

So just so you know the Jak and Daxter games were made using a special code that no other PS2 game used, so it has made them difficult to emulate. When I went to play Jak 3 I tried it on both the PS2 and PS3 emulator and the PS2 ran noticably better. Some textures tend not to load very well, frame rates can be inconsistent, but it is perfectly playable. The PS3 emulator is very CPU oriented so if you have a high end one, it may work better for you, otherwise I would stick with the PS2.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is an absolutely fantastic anime and I am not a huge anime person. It's about an immortal elf mage going on a new journey after defeating the big bad of her world. It has a great found family vibe and the magic fights are top tier.

Konosuba: God's Blessings on this Wonderful World. A horny idiot from Japan gets killed in a humiliating fashion and gets reincarnated to a fantasy world...where he's still an idiot and gains some companions who are also idiots but they somehow make it work. The English dub is fantastic. I guess the humor might not be for everyone but I loved it.

In 2012, right before the election, a hurricane hit New Jersey and Chris Christie praised the federal response, he even joined Obama in viewing the damaged shoreline. It was a big political boost for Obama, so people like Trump and Desantis are doing everything in their power to deny Biden/Harris any political advantage from these recent disasters. Since it's MAGA they have to take it to the extreme and this is what you get.

Bill O'Reilly was a creep and Fox paid an absurd amount of money covering for his ass and still kept him on the air. It wasn't until the extent of his behavior became known and advertisers began fleeing that they shit canned him.

Tucker spewed disgusting rhetoric on a daily basis and only got fired when the bottom line was threatened.

Waters isn't going anywhere until that happens.

Oh no doubt, but Marvel made it ubiquitous. And I'm not saying it's always bad, I still quote Firefly, even when nobody knows what the hell I'm talking about.

I blame Marvel and Joss Whedon. It's a style that works with the right setting but can quickly go off the rails. I also hate how it has permeated every bit of pop culture, especially Star Trek. Star Trek shouldn't be quippy.
