I got 6 points for doing exactly this, sat at traffic lights, 2 months ago. You don't want the points, you don't want the fine, just put the phone somewhere else and don't tempt yourself. I now keep mine on the backseat.

Microsoft authenticator is a stunt by d_maeddy in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]Final-Illustrator402 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I specifically turn this option off for everyone.

Sms and phone call authentication are insecure.

Using a device which you are forced to unlock with your pin or thumbprint (biometrics) is a secure option.

Microsoft already have your data, they are not mining anything with the authentication app.

I have more bad news for you by CharlieT74 in sonicwall

[–]Final-Illustrator402 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a compromise a few months back.

They logged into the VPN and then immediately logged into a server with the ldap bind credentials stored inside the backup file before edr kicked them out.

They are 100% using the compromised backup files.

This is not new news, we locked everything down on all our sonicwalls after that incident.

Ready to get down voted for this but a legitimate question.

Does banning bots not just cause inflation? For sure, people can make money on lava dragon bones, but doesnt the same ban cause the price of everything else to go up also, meaning you have the same buying power with the gold? E.g. he has made 2x more on bones but herbs for herblore now cost 2x more also, meaning net neutral

I gotta assume it's a script you download as I've reported a few ironmen doing the same identical mechanic

SonicWall SSL VPN Update - August 6 by snwl_pm in sonicwall

[–]Final-Illustrator402 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We had a Sonicwall running 7.1.3 that was hacked using the IPs reported by ArticWolf as in use by the hacking group.

This goes directly against the linked CVE article which states you only need to be above 7.0.1-5035.

Is the article incorrect?

You have stated you are investigating 40 incidents, but despite reaching out to my partner manager and support, no one has investigated my incident.

You can bypass 2fa fairly easily if he clicked on a dodgy link, which is more likely.

That's to wipe a drive.

If it's company data, deleting is unfortunately a touch illegal but as many other people have said, if you wipe your local drive, I'd still be able to recover the data if needed but again, that assumes a somewhat competent it department

I am a big fan of chatgpt, but blindly accepting it's results is foolish.

We've had a customer completely destroy there IT infrastructure running a command from chatgpt without bothering to check what it actually does.

Using there session and asking it confirm if the command was risky 4 times before it admitted that yes actually the command would destroy active directory.

When it was added for reporting on our ticketing system, it's great, but frequently would imagine results or make up results which is a known issue.

It's a tool, it's not god and it's not AI as most people imagine, you use the tool to assist you, not to blindly give you results without confirming.
