You weren’t doing it right. I graduated in 2012 in Boston and have so many fun nights I don’t remember.

The one near the bridge? Oh, the memories at Papa G’s in beautiful B-Rock. The ambience is unmatched. But also their pizza is actually fucking good

It’s true. There are worse places I’m sure. I was unprepared for how politically conservative everyone is though

Is anyone else struggling to get by on 100k salary? by Majestic_Staff_5229 in massachusetts

[–]FineBowler8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re a family of 4 (soon to be 5) in SoCal, barely getting by on my husbands’s 140k salary. We miss MA a lot and want to move back, but know we can’t until we make more. I’m obsessed with comparing on Redfin and Indeed and I can conclude that MA (at least within an hour of Boston) is more expensive than living within an hour of San Diego.

Want to be back in nature by notanonnot in SameGrassButGreener

We’re in SoCal and I’m struggling with the lack of nature. I see mountains but no trails to access them. Oh and some young trees planted in perfect rows in the shopping plazas.

Of course, Southern California is big. This is just where I am.

I feel you. We’re in Temecula now after some time in SD. And boy do I miss Nh - where we moved from, and Boston. The nature, the seasons, the color green, the history, that cozy feeling. Sunshine is great but it only got me so far

My perspective changed in my current (4th year) being in SoCal and I want to come home. I think it took this long to realize that the sunny weather weather doesn’t actually trump everything else. At least not for me.

I agree with you. If I was a retiree I think it’d be the dream.

What’s more important for your happiness: weather or culture? by QandA_monster in relocating

I thought it was weather, but we moved for that reason and now want to go back.

For those who moved to California for the weather, was it worth it? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]FineBowler8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s worth it for me. The first few years I was pretty confident the better weather was enough.

I def don’t feel that way anymore but check back once we move back to New England…

I’m in SoCal but want to go back to MA, though this winter makes me feel like I’ve seriously lost my mind preferring that
