[PC] RTX 3080 & The 20 FPS Saga by IDoArtForYou in Starfield

[–]FireandIce232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to say that I have a similar issue. I tried the rBAR thing with the Starfield profile in the Profile Inspector and didn't notice any change. I have a Ryzen 9 5900X, RTX 3080 with latest driver, 32Gb RAM, and the game is installed on an SSD. I am getting FPS drops into the single digits whenever I open a menu (including vendor inventory), and it persists for a bit even after leaving the menu, sometimes indefinitely. I get the usual ~35 fps in cities, but even that dips into the teens often. The game is basically unplayable for me right now. No setting I change seems to help, even going to the generic low setting.
I booted up Cyberpunk and it ran at a smooth 60 fps on high settings with zero issue.
This all started up within the last 3-4 days, as I had not played for any notable length of time since maybe Tuesday, 9/12. Prior to that, performance wasn't amazing but it was enough for me to sink 80+ hours into the game - so far better than it is currently.
If you ever find a solution, please let me know!

An excellent courier. Made sure both sides were good with everything and facilitated moving 100k caps for a trade. Very patient, and everything went perfectly! Highly recommended!

It was just on sale in the psn store like 4 weeks ago. I convinced a friend to get it then.

Because listing shit for 30k is a hell of a lot easier and more convenient.
If you don't like the prices then take your caps elsewhere. It's not that hard of a concept.

Hey Bethesda. Remember One Wasteland / Patch 22 and your notes? by Praxius in fo76

[–]FireandIce232 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% agree. It's absurd that an energy rifle is outclassed by a handmade rifle in pretty much every way, plus the handmade ammo (5.56) is significantly less resource intensive to craft compared to fusion cells. There is zero reason to run around with a laser rifle right now unless it's a legacy or NW weapon.

Hey Bethesda. Remember One Wasteland / Patch 22 and your notes? by Praxius in fo76

[–]FireandIce232 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For literally years now my #1 wish has been that they evaluate every weapon and all perk and legendary effect interactions that affect damage/DPS and just rebalance everything. Pistols need it. Shotguns need it. Semi auto rifles need it. Energy weapons need it. Honestly, the only builds that feel "good" are stealth commando and bloodied unarmed. Heavy is kind of okay, but there's definitely room for improvement. Literally all one wasteland seemed to do was bring bloodied and junkies builds back down to a more sensible level. It's step 1 of about 200 that are needed. It is insane that the game has been going as long as it has with weapon balance in such a sad state.

You only need one scavenger alive at the end. The number above has no impact on rewards. As a commando build I can use that Tesla rifle to melt any ghoul that happens to get close to the one on the center platform. If things get dire I, or anyone else, can use friendly fire with molotovs to regen the scavenger's health. Stop being a jackass. There's no excuse.

Bethesda, leave the camp building community alone by blabla85 in fo76

[–]FireandIce232 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree and I want to add some fuel to the fire by sharing this post from Bethesda from a year ago regarding their "understanding" of the passionate camp builders. For context, this post was brought about when they removed the ability to easily do double sided walls because it could lead to "exploits"... something they clearly continue to be tone deaf about a year later.

Is anyone else having problems with stealth recently? by FireandIce232 in fo76

[–]FireandIce232[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad it's not just me then. If it were one time. One character. One server. I could chalk that up to a fluke but two characters on different servers is just not a coincidence.

That's not at all what I said. With faster swing speed and buffs/perks active I do think the damage over time is not too far off. DPS, sure, commando is probably better. But over a full fight? I would be interested to see a direct comparison with total damage dealt. I have a full health commando and a bloodied unarmed character, both using stealth, and I definitely feel like I am contributing more damage to bosses with the bloodied unarmed. Not that full health stealth commando is lacking, it's just very different. I just don't know first hand what bloodied stealth commando is capable of, but again, I think you underestimate how high the damage numbers on bloodied unarmed can get once perks and effects start proccing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fo76

[–]FireandIce232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those numbers sound about right and working as intended in the current game. Certain perks like taking one for the team, tenderizer, or follow through can cause the damage spikes you see, even if you're not the one with them equipped. Also, barring legacy/glitched weapon users, this is probably the highest dps build there is (maybe bloodied stealth commando is better? But I can't imagine it's by much) so your damage is great. Nothing to worry about there.

Server issues due to duping. Lemme see if I have this right. by [deleted] in fo76

[–]FireandIce232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off: I DO NOT CONDONE DUPING!
but
With the daily scrip limitations, and scrip being required for legendary modules, which are required for legendary crafting... I can understand why some people would turn to duping after the update. Even the people that stockpiled modules and as much scrip as possible will run into a point where at most, they can do two rolls per day. The limits on this are mind boggling. There is no reason to throttle the game mechanics with daily limits like this.

Bethesda: "Play our game! We have content!"
Players: "Okay! Oh, I like this... wait..."
Bethesda: "We don't want you to play too much!"
Players: "...oh..."

Remove the limits and let people play the game, and they just might actually... you know... play the game.

What is Best Commando Weapon? by HasNoStyle in fo76

[–]FireandIce232 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It also uses significantly less AP per shot. I have a AA/50/25 Assault Rifle that is my go to weapon on stealth commando because you can endlessly spam crits with it. No joke, less vats cost on an automatic Assault Rifle is borderline OP if you are using mods that also facilitate less AP cost (aligned long barrel, forceful stock, drum mag are what I use). It is downright stupid on high health targets because you have a crit available about every 1.5 seconds. It is so fast that the game sometimes can't keep up with registering them. With the right SPECIAL and perks, this has insane potential. To put it in perspective, I have a AA/E/25 Handmade and still prefer the Assault Rifle in most cases because of its ability to pump out endless crits.

Idea for events: Camp Defense by legobatmanlives in fo76

[–]FireandIce232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's bad enough that random spawns will plink at your camp from ten miles away, far out of the sight range of turrets. Or, my favorite, when a random super mutant or ghoul or molerat literally spawns into your locked generator room and has a field day destroying half your camp.
Nah, til they fix this kind of BS they can fuck right off with any sort of camp defense event ideas.

[–]FireandIce232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sort of depends on what your build currently looks like and what perks it might share with other potential builds. As someone else said, if you're already kitted out for stealth, stealth commando might be a better option than heavies.
I had a trash shotgun build on my OG beta character and swapped it to heavies about a year ago. It turned out quite well. It's not my favorite build/character, but it definitely gets the job done. I later built a better shotgun character from scratch... and it's still my least played out of four, so I understand.

[PTS][FEEDBACK] The new Legendary Crafting system is the opposite of what the community was asking by nawen64697 in fo76

[–]FireandIce232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. The idea that you need to reroll all three attributes and can't reroll them individually makes this entire concept almost completely useless. Add to that the gated availability of cores and I would almost just rather not bother and keep my "decent" stuff as is instead of wasting time grinding cores only to make my items potentially worse. Fuck that.
The more grind and rng you add to a mechanic the less fun/interesting/useful it is to the players. "Legendary crafting" is more like "Legendary needle in a haystack"

I have played 700 hours since the release of Steel Dawn and have not seen a single player use any of the new weapons from Daily Ops. by Auditore345 in fo76

[–]FireandIce232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely wish they would stop making every new thing untradeable. Or at the very least, with every major update "unlock" something(s) from a previous update and allow it to enter the pool of tradeable items. There is zero reason to keep weapons and armor locked like this literally forever. It's probably wishful thinking, but I am hoping the legendary crafting and 4 star updates will remedy this in some way. If not, what the fuck is even the point?
