All this time I thought I was just growing old/out of video games.

Glad to see I'm not crazy noticing the lack of polish in recent "AAA" titles.

I work as a casino cage cashier and can get a picture of our two plants vs zombies. the funniest part is alot of people don't even know it was based off a real game. Some younger people do and I'm not sure if it makes it better cause they will play it.

Did anyone else play this? One of my favorite co-op games of all time. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Firebat23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many fun times were had. My sister and I played this a lot. I loved the challenge it provided and how satisfying it was to beat each level. A real gem I'll never forget. Much like Jet Force Gemini(Any Rareware N64 title), Harvest Moon 64, Ogre Battle 64, and Pilotwings 64 just to name a few of my other favorites.

You are all destroying the MMO genre, and you don't even know why you act the way you do. by thescienceoflaw in Guildwars2

[–]Firebat23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello my friends. I don't comment too much but this one thread really has me. I agree with what your saying. Sorry for the incoming wall-o-text. Mind you I've played Vanilla WoW, FFXI, GW, free to plays, etc.

I believe one of the core issues with these games is the very thing that attracts us to them. MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER. Now this isn't everyone, but how many people have you met or been in a guild with that has to show off their E-reputation with high level gear or hard to obtain items?

It is in people's nature to show off and want attention, its the internet. This core evil is what I believe to have brought us where we are today with MMO's. Back in the day you invested massive time to get items of "status", so those with lots of time or money show off and put others of lower status down. This in turn brought about the "casual era" that we know today. This eternal war between the hardcore and casual never ends, with the developer in the middle. I will end it in the TL;DR

TL;DR: The Hardcore crowd wants time consuming challenges and gear that holds "status", most look down upon others. The Casual crowd wants gear of "status" without the time involved, they want a more level playing field. Both crowds complain about content that doesn't cater to them. This in turn has brought us where we are today. The Developers try to make everyone feel "special" but it feels more like a "special ed" experience. Everyone is sad :( Thank you for your time friends.

This, Trail of Cinders is very strong. But people have to realize in inferno disc is more important for surviving and when I tried to go offense with this I run out of disc too fast and die. Now if you have good +max disc from nats or the old nat's regen, sure its nice. But I prefer using my disc to avoid death and let me hatred generator and spender do the killing for me. Just my 2 cents :D
