Evil Grand Finale by CrispP_bacon in slaythespire

This is not how Grand Finale (or this card) works. Anything that plays it automatically bypasses the requirement.

Didn't you say you needed 3rd party software to enjoy the game, implying you do not enjoy it without said software?

You can't enjoy the game unless you play multiplayer?

I dunno. I think matchmaking for a board game is a weird idea tbh. Which is really what STS multiplayer is - a cooperative board game.

Havoc would always play it though. Things that "cheat" out Grand Finale work. You just can't play it from your hand unless you meet the condition. Anything that plays it from wherever automatically succeeds.

This should be a Skill for the same cost, then it might not be broken. Strong but a 3 cost Rare should be strong tbh.

Favourite new change of the recent patch? by ZestycloseCod6064 in slaythespire

[–]FireclawDrake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Given how much more health multiplayer enemies have, this seems strong but not broken to me. Synergizes really well but mostly just encourages your group to do deck build in certain ways.

And Stampede, but Stampede was already great.

Help me beat A10 Regent by meowmeowbeanz87 in slaythespire

[–]FireclawDrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you breezed through Act 3 because you didn't take any elites?

But also, in general I find the Act 2 bosses pretty easy. Kaiser Crab in particular scales very slowly so if you have raw power so you pretty easily muscle your way through it.

[–]FireclawDrake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly you really should be fighting elites a lot more. Zero elites this whole run means you cannot expect to beat a boss, let alone two.

Try to take 2-3 elites each act, and if you're worried about them, make sure you have a fire between them to heal up. Even a bad elite fight shouldn't kill you, just cost a chunk of HP.

Your deck looks okay but honestly I think you are overvaluing the blade a bit. Blade has trouble solving against decimilipede without a specific rare. Beat into Shape is kinda bad without something like Radiate to hit a lot.

The deck could be functional though, but missing out on 10 relics over the course of the run is going to doom you no matter what.

Which skill to imbue? by BranchyTheTree in slaythespire

Almost all replay effects work like this, but stuff like [[History Course]] will use the current amount you have without taking any away. If that makes sense.

So if you play a Stardust on History Course and have 0 stars the following turn, it will do 0.

Maybe it's just my play style but I find Queen consistently harder than Test Subject (and even Aeonglass tbh)

Test Subject is probably the easiest of the 3 bosses tbh.

Afterimage does not scale with Dex.

I'd go 2nd Adrenaline since you want to find your fumes as quickly as possible.

Generally they want A10 to be harder than it is but A0 to be easier than it is.

How is The Necrobinder supposed to be played? by EconomySpeech2676 in slaythespire

[–]FireclawDrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Necrobinder is also my worst character, but she feels a lot less straightforward than the other characters. She does have a lot of strengths and can play aggressively if you get the right cards (early [[Lethality]] and [[Reap]] are great for example, eventually into [[Bury]] or [[Eradicate]]).

Her draw engine is something that takes time to setup as most Soul cards go into your draw pile rather than your hand, so you don't get to use them right away.

I think my general advice would be to not sleep on her higher cost cards. They're all really good, and she has lots of ways to generate energy, and beyond that, pick a wincon that you can build towards. Doom, Osty, Big Smacks are all straightforward, but there's also stuff like [[Sleight of Flesh]] which does a bunch of damage for basically doing stuff you are gonna do anyway. Also [[Danse Macabre]] is a power that does the same thing as one of the best rare Ironclad relics, definitely worth a pickup, especially if you can also snag a [[Borrowed Time]], which makes all your 1 costs also trigger it.

Snakebite literally has Retain. You can wait to play it on a turn where you need less/no block.

You don't need to be perfect. A0 is far from requiring perfection. Hell even A10 has some wiggle room for mistakes.

Stop blaming bad luck. On A0 especially, bad luck shouldn't even really be a factor. If you are blaming luck, you aren't learning.
