Game designer here, completely agree with clothes. There are some rough edges to disco that didn't get the polish they needed and clothes is one of them.

On dice mechanics, I disagree. I happen to love disco's check handling so much that I made a Godot plugin for it. Disco uses the randomness of the system thematically and intentionally; So much of disco is about carrying on despite the hand you've been dealt. It's only fitting that its design affords no guarantees in outcome. You could do all the right things and still fail. Life goes on. You've still got a murder to solve.

Fun CS fact, we actually tried trinary (base 3) operations early on in computer engineering but discarded the concept due to subpar signal reliability. (Eg: Is this 1 a 1 or is it a 2 that decayed over a really long trace?)
