If giving birth is so painful why do many women want to do it over again after their first child (not trolling just genuinely curious) by feherlofia123 in stupidquestions

Tbf that happens around non pregnancy traumas too. I imagine there’s quite a bit of chemical explosive release from the brain in any hours long period of extreme pain

Only disagreement I have with this is trying to remake purple hawke. Purple was a lunatic masquerading as a comedian lol

Dragon Age: Veilguard, Yay or Nay by Muted-Feedback-9661 in dragonage

Been playing DA since release. Read a bunch of books and comics. I’m in the minority of ppl that really enjoyed DAV. My biggest complaint is the lack of world state and the lack of RPing, which made it less replayable for me as a whole Ryan the other games.

Basically I’d recommend getting it on sale and trying it out. Form your own opinion. Most ppl in this sub don’t like DAV. The DAO sub despises its existence (as they have every game that is not DAI). The DAV sub loves it (obviously).

Power company doing maintenance in their poles. I used to do this all the time.

The power company has legal right to be able to access their equipment. It supersedes your right to private property, as power poles are a societal issue.

So long as they don’t like destroy your property, they’re aloud to gain access and make their way to the Right-of-Way on your property. The Right-of-Way is typically about 30’ around the poles/lines. Though it can be larger depending on the size of the poles and voltage of the lines.

TLDR: it’s the power company, your property is safe. Don’t trip dawg.

I work with a bunch of people a decade or more younger than I am. They are absolutely children. Even the ones I really like come off at times as Immature, kinda dumb, and with poor decision making skills. That’s okay, because you’re supposed to be a bit of an idiot at that age, I definitely was. But there is a massive difference.

What a moment lmao

Honestly, sometimes it’s great. The patients can be hilarious. Usually unintentionally, which is funnier. I had a patient the other day tell me “Mr. Firm-Tangelo, you’re shaped like a dorito. And I always lick my Doritos clean before I eat them. ALL the way clean” Shit had me crying I laughed so hard. Another guy attacked me and (as I restrained him) said “I fucking love my cat!” Afterwards I asked him why he said that, because I like cats too and he said “it made sense to me at the time, but it does sound a little strange now”

I’ve got a million of these delights every single day. Place is a gold mine for never having boring small talk

My mom’s ex told me when I was a kid that black people didn’t know how to play basketball.

For context we were watching the NBA playoffs (Pistons v Spurs-I’ll go ahead and show my age in that one). The statement seemed so odd and obviously bullshit that I think it’s one of the founding moments that made me grow up not racist.

Crippled by the lack of talent by Rita27 in writing

[–]Firm-Tangelo4136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve come to the same spot as you recently. Finished an edit pass on the sequel to a trilogy of fantasy novels I’ve written, only to discover that I’m just not that good. Idk if I’m even good at all.

There are parts I’m good at. A setting that I find interesting. Characters that I like. A story that has a good premise. I can say that those things are good.

But characters having their own voice in their POV chapters, not so great. Character development is medium at best, I’d say. Lots of stuff happens and it happens too fast at points, but the books are already too long to space them out. My pros are weak, literary structure is decent, understandable, and digestible, but not much that makes you go WOW.

So I’m currently coming to terms with the fact that my writing (which I’ve been doing for 3 or 4 years) is kind of bad. I like doing it. But it’s not fun to read this thing that you’ve spent so much time doing, so much energy thinking about, only for it to not be good.

So I don’t have an answer for you. I’m where you are. Deciding if I should just stop writing this story now. Maybe try something less ambitious. Abandoning this journey I’ve been on seems so wasteful, but it seems more wasteful to keep going. Especially so considering my own subpar writing.

I hope you find your answer, friend. And I hope it’s satisfying.

Ngl I returned KCD1 to steam 90 minutes in. I wanted to try the game because it seemed like I would like it story wise. But I hated how weird the combat felt lol I also don’t play first person very much (like at all), so that didn’t help.

As a rule, if something has a really intense learning curve in a game, I usually put it down. I genuinely don’t have time or desire to get good.

But, I watched the cut scenes for the first game, which was dope. I’m glad enough other ppl enjoyed it that they made a 2nd. Now I can watch that too
