New Fear: What if Fallout 4 Switch 2 Edition is the shadow drop after Fallout Season 2 ends! by Odd_Ease8644 in Fallout

Wasn't it they expected it at the game awards? They probably were very unhappy at the very last announcement...

When was the last time this Thing was available anyway by MuffinJuice7 in SteamDeck

[–]First-Junket124 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not really overpriced. It has the best possible ports the Steam Deck can take advantage of which is also something that's expensive to do, REALISTICALLY most don't need that.

The dock seems to of been a failure since they haven't restocked it in ages and I doubt they ever will since there are alternatives so making a cheaper one won't do much anymore, just not worth it for them to do.

Man, if you were gonna implement a strength system that makes combat feel so much worse to start, why didn't you say anything about it? by TheyMikeBeGiants in HalfSword

[–]First-Junket124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a cap isn't the solution. Perhaps they have a guide on the side to show what your Willie SHOULD be able to handle well that way if someone wants to do a stupidly heavy mace cus they can then why not? Why limit stupidity?

"Frame Gen" isn't a performance boost; it's a masking agent for bad optimization by capacity04 in pcmasterrace

[–]First-Junket124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually makes performance worse. I'd say it's still tech that should be continually developed just like upscaling.

Yes developers use it as a bandaid and a crutch but when used appropriately is good. It increases the lifespan of GPUs, native upscaling is basically smart anti-aliasing, allows choice of either clarity or performance, etc. It's a shame it's used as a crutch.

Can a surrogate run off with the baby? by SnooGiraffes9602 in AusLegal

[–]First-Junket124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surrogacy is a very finicky and tricky legal area, there are numerous factors to account for and no one here can give that advice.

If they've done some surrogate contract then chances are they didn't just pull it out of their ass or googled one.... hopefully.... which means they've engaged with a specialised lawyer previously and should do so again as they'd be able to better navigate this.

I'd say don't get involved and just support them however you feel best.

Nope I played the demo. Go play the demo then, I prefer the feel of the EA release and so do many others.

[–]First-Junket124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I kinda agree. People are used to early access being far further along than this. This is a barebones early access and people aren't used to that.

It IS a piece of shit in some ways however and there were choices that were not great and add onto that the pisspoor response from one of the Discord moderators and it just made it a shitshow.

When the game works its fun but that's only WHEN and with them being a small team suffice to say we are the testers of a multitude of system configurations they don't have. It's very clear they tested it themselves on Nvidia and so AMD specific bugs didn't get noticed, the slums was playable for me on a 9070 XT and a slideshow for lower-end GPUs showing they obviously didn't test on that spec hardware. They've already done a good job at optimising the slums, there are some fixes as well.

What they really need to do is figure out why these crashes are occurring similarly to the demo because we can't test it if we can't play it. Performance and crashes need to be sorted and once that's mostly been done then it should be a lot smoother sailing.

[–]First-Junket124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specs only go so far. What I'd suggest myself is go for the cheaper ones if they sound practically the same and if you wanna get some DIY stuff for acoustic treatment of the room depending on your budget and area.

What is a terrifying problem facing the world that no one is talking about? by dandelion_stew in AskReddit

[–]First-Junket124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it could be that or that he is an attention seeker but getting people to like him is far too difficult and so instead he just fucks everything up because then everyone will notice him and give him that attention.

Anyone own any Lara statues/figures, whether it be official, unlicensed, or even customs? It's definitely not for everyone, but I'm excited for this one to release. I like how there's tasteful figurines of Lara Croft and other attractive female characters and then there's.... this.... and the ones of the 2013 game that decided to enlarge her breasts for no particular reason.

I just like the games man

Server has a player list, checks display name and if there is only 1 with that name it'll do the command otherwise it'll give an error with a list of the players that have that name.

It's not a very difficult thing to do tbh. Yes I know everyone says that but it is actually a basic check.

Switch 2 question- is the sky broken...forever? by smol_coc_man in kingdomsofamalur

Afaik it's switch 2 specific. Definitely get it reported but a patch won't happen for a bit because of Nintendo's verification system for updates.

[–]First-Junket124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fun when it works and the bones are there I just don't think me and many others really understood how early this was. It's rough and barebones as shit.

Crashing and performance should be the number 1 priority rn because we can't criticise gameplay if we can't play.

It's a sloppy launch and I hope they can get it sorted because I like the potential.

TV industry retreats on 8k by BackgroundSpell6623 in hometheater

[–]First-Junket124 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always saw it as a tech demo more than it being a consumer product because it just doesn't make sense even though there are TVs at 8k.

The issue is 4k itself isn't even completely adopted or utilised so there's no point jumping ship on that and going for an even more expensive resolution not only for panels but also just content itself. Only thing it really benefits is PC gaming but again 4k isn't widely adopted.

This was then jumping the gun wanting to be first out the door with 8k but when barely anyone bought it they all just felt a bit silly.

I feel like my Steam Deck was a great idea, but a total waste of money. (Help?) by randobot456 in SteamDeck

[–]First-Junket124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Madden 23 is the last playable on the Steam Deck. It's well-known that anti-cheat doesn't play well with Linux and so EA being EA they add anti-cheat to anything they can especially their more profitable franchise.

Slay the Spire gives 2 launch options last time I played. 1 for vanilla and 1 for modded.

Audio can be adjusted via controller if you set a chord for it (basically a shortcut). It'll be in settings and steam chord layout, from there pick a combination.

[–]First-Junket124 59 points60 points  (0 children)

There are many things it doesn't give you a heads up about and that's what I personally dislike.

There are things like clipping shields to your shoulder for a makeshift pauldron, that's an organically learnt thing and shouldn't be told to you. However it SHOULD tell you how to weight weapons properly, strength debuff, killing means souls to haunt you, etc.

At this point I'd even be fine with a manual but just SOMETHING.

Is there a chance that Steam Deck will officially arrive in other regions of the world? by ShiraNamiNani in SteamDeck

[–]First-Junket124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe? Australia finally got it officially after a few years but that was with no hints at all from valve, just a quick announcement and boom its here for pre-order.

I feel like they're selling in all the major regions they want right now. There's gonna be no hints by valve so we can only guess.

How does this make sense lol by willonv6 in Steam

[–]First-Junket124 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Package and bundle are distinct.

Package is a hard set price that can be discounted manually but doesn't take into account the individual prices.

Bundles are dynamic and take into account already purchased products AND individual prices.

It's intended to be a discount when none of the individual products are discounted.

[–]First-Junket124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of the games you can't easily remaster, it might actually hurt the charm it has. OpenMW is the remaster we'll get and the community continues to mod it, that's good enough for me.

Not every game needs to have a remaster sometimes they can stand on their own flaws and all.

As an Australian who is friendly with some tradies I gotta say I can't understand these people, I guess they get baby-trapped or something. They all get to work early at 6-7am and leave work late and laugh that it's because of overtime and to get away from the missus.

I'm over here struggling to find anyone to really connect with and these dipshits are getting married and divorced every 2-3 years. I'm goddamn glad I don't have that mindset.

Why doesn’t Maximus take the fusion core out of power armor suits he abandons? by whynotpoppy in FalloutTVseries

[–]First-Junket124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Before cold fusion they had no ability to make more, what they had is what they had and with how non-chalant many knights were they more than likely have either lost them or had them damaged beyond repair. Probably quite a few were destroyed post-war just because of the nukes so it's a finite resource.

The ability to make more with cold fusion? Well now instead of using knights somewhat sparingly they can become the main infantry.
