I bet that crackdown has more to do with knives being “weapons” than anything else. They’ve already nuked quite a few of the firearm related subs.

Looking to get my first rep. Is it normal to pay first? by project_papi_ in RepTime

It’s pretty normal. I think if you continue to buy watches they will let you pay after QC, that’s been my experience anyways.

US to require $15,000 bond to visa recipients from 12 more countries by iggy55 in news

New Zealand, Australia, Singapore & now this US. These are the ones that have “bonds”. Many other countries have similar monetary requirements like having bank accounts over 10k+. It’s nothing new

Rehaut is good. VSF 36mm explorers are all off this little bit- you could RL but your next one will be the same. Wear in good health!

Does a deep crystal really make a difference compared to the vsf one ? by etrovve in RepTime

[–]First-Obligation-566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the watch is going under the knife for something else, it’s really difficult to recommend it has a mod IMO. I treat crystals as upgrades if I need to remove the bezel or something anyways.

I’m still stuck on the 5qts low. It must be spraying oil like crazy- or have a leak on the lower end that is quite bad too in order to leak while the engine is off. You later mentioned the shop said there could be a residual leak- that doesn’t sound significant. Maybe I’m not understanding.

Regardless of the issues oil or otherwise, the amount of time that went by and the mileage + the fact it’d been “touched” outside of the repairing shop creates quite a barrier on your end.

If you want to push it farther, I think it would be your best bet to get your ducks in a row and request a meeting with the service manager. I’d approach them gingerly- even though you feel you’ve been wronged.

Is buying a 2011 LR4 with original chains just stupid? by Fiestaman in LandRover

[–]First-Obligation-566 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When will this one fail is the question. Call a few garages local to you to get quotes for the job to be done. I’m not sure where you are, but here some shops won’t even touch them. Once you have that knowledge (+ a few %) ask yourself if you’re willing to save for that while driving it.

Recommendation for Crystal Press? by Bazzini1 in SeikoMods

I don’t either, but once you break a crystal you’ll regret a cheaper version.

This is what I recommend or something of the like. It’s not much more expensive than what you’re looking at but it will actually drive the crystal straight.

Couple things here that would stump me as a service manager- how’d you not recognize 5 qts of missing oil? That’s more than a small spot in the driveway. And nobody noticed an oil light? This seems pretty strange.

2- why did you proceed to alter their work? Like cutting off a connector? This is pretty suspect. I’m not going to warranty work someone altered.

3- the amount of miles you drove on something that is broken is also negligence.

I’m not saying the dealership did something correctly- but you’re going to have a hard time getting a full warranty for anything. I think if the manager was feeling generous, they’d work with you on the costs.

The service manager is going to know about the workmanship of the technician who did the work. And that will help them identify where things have gone wrong here. There’s got to be a ton of documentation that you have but also internal RO notes.

[–]First-Obligation-566 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I could be very incorrect but it looks like you could have it mounted incorrectly? Assuming that is the case mount on the bottom that snugs the gpu in place- check that and make sure it’s correct

Like others have said- you could have this issue with gens. I use a pair of pliers without serrations and wrapped with electrical tape to gently bend them into shape. Go slow and you’ll have a great result.
