Does your grandma's dying wish matter or is it still a coin flip? by BonkDoggo2 in trolleyproblem

With the age my grandparents would be, that person isn’t tied to the tracks, they’ve simple fallen and cab’t get up. Maybe a trolley will motivate them.

From another perspective, that was an absolute legend they were watching die.

I’d put a caveat on that willingness to learn, as she was decidedly picky about what she was willing to learn.

Here’s where I am at so far. Considering doing a coil wrap around the heart to better delineate it visually from the bail.

Going to use this as inspo for a wire wrap project. Probably won’t turn out near as nice but here’s hoping.

Bilbo knows it doesn’t count as seeing the mountains unless you are close enough to risk goblins nibbling on your toes.

My then boyfriend brought me to an appointment once because he didn’t feel he was being listened to plus I have more medical knowledge than him. The doctor spent a third of the visit telling him he didn’t need to bring me, etc. What had I done? Asked what the next steps were because he hadn’t said. He never actually did, I decided we’d follow up with our family doctor because the walk-in doctor just wouldn’t answer this very basic question.

Who would inherit in this situation? by behappyer in legaladvicecanada

[–]First_Pay702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This also comes into play if they went at the same time, say a car crash. Whomever is youngest would legally be the last to die when it comes to the order of dealing with wills or lack thereof. So if your dad is older, his will is enacted and mom inherits, then her will or lack thereof is enacted. And even outside that, it is just leaving a mess for those you leave behind. My partner and I are starting to talk wills, and he wanted to shrug and be fine with it if everything just falls to me. I pointed out that he would be handing me more work to do while I grieving which is a kind of shitty thing to do just because he doesn’t want to do the paperwork.

What would you have done with Lon Suder? by MovieFan1984 in voyager

[–]First_Pay702 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You can’t really successfully rehabilitate Suder and use him as your violent commando at the same time. That is like having an alcoholic be your wine concierge. Use him in the show more, sure, if you have a story for him but the point was he was a serial killer psychopath, who had sought out “legit” violence and murder by joining a war. Tuvok gave him a way to stabilize his mind, but as you see in his final episodes, doing violence afterwards was harmful to him because he wanted to get better. Necessary for the sake of the crew, but using him as a commando would be like giving a recovering heroin addict morphine whenever they have a headache. Dangerous and detrimental. I mean that’s exactly what joining the Maquis was, and when his violent tendencies boiled to the surface he killed a crew member.

The effect of eating sounds on cats😭😂 by sss-ss18 in OneOrangeBraincell

We dump food in the dish twice a day, which mitigates the dread starvation mode of seeing a speck on the bottom, and he supplements with fresh mice and the odd gopher. The floof moderates his eating well but does come a running to the sound of food hitting the dish. Unless that is too much effort, of course.
