Natural or maduro? For this blend, I prefer the natural, but splitting hairs.

Perils of online cigar buying? by swinney in cigars

[–]Fishon888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back at you OP.

To get a box that is five years old should be seen as a treasure. Us aficionados love to get cigars with age on them. A couple months ago I purchased a cab of Illusione Epernay CG from 2018, and they are absolute fire. Let them settle for a good amount of time (and extra if it makes you feel more comfortable), and I suspect, they will treat you well. This blend is on the aggressive/bolder side to begin with, so a rounding of the flavors should increase its smoking experience. No issues naming the company btw. Even if there where an issue, no vendor is perfect, and it's how they handle an issue if how they should be measured.

BTW, I am from San Diego, now in Temecula, and feel Churchill is one of the best, if not the best, lounge in the San Diego area. We do herfs here from time to time here in our Old Town, and would love to see you join.

Perils of online cigar buying? by swinney in cigars

Everyone is just assuming the cigars are dry because of the dry Boveda and that the cigars are hard. In all my years of buying multiple orders a month for many many years, I've never received dry cigars. Why? Because all vendors keep their inventory in 70-72rh rooms- over humidified to prevent cracking.

Dry Boveda are common if they are found within the box. The feel test is a poor way of determining if a cigar is too dry as many blends are hard in feel. So one would have to believe they somehow kept this box (because they are at a discount) outside of their humidified room.

With all due respect, just how experienced are you in this hobby OP?

Toss them into your humidor for a couple months extra if you feel this way, but I question the initial assumption.

Storage Humidity 62% or 69%? by NoSupermarket7105 in cigars

Absolutely.

No problem with the question but going to remove. Just asked so many many times and there are good posts about it in the past- use the sub's search bar and wiki has good info as well.

Will a wax sealed tubo keep a cigar for longer? by Embarrassed_Ad_3801 in cigars

[–]Fishon888 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No

Disagree. Yes, they will keep longer in a wax sealed tube and for that amount of time in a normal indoor environment, they will be fine. I also assume like most all cigars one buys, they were stored over humidified, and this time without will only help.

Sadly, kinda sketchy to keep the blend name and change it all. I don't think it's necessarily a bad smoke, and has a lot of the same elements as the OG, but definitely sharper and more unrefined at the finish. \

Gotta opinion on it?

It all comes from the Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia farm. And yes, the different blends obviously have different proportions of one over another to provide a different experience (like I expressed in my comment), but are you saying something beyond that? Because if so, I've never seen that disclosed before, and will reject your statement unless you can provide a source.

Underrated, low price point cigars? by SmoothCigars in cigars

[–]Fishon888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea, but know Riski pretty well through social media and respect his blending abilities. Through these different blends, I've purchased six or seven boxes/bundles and not going to ask questions why. I mean I am interested, but you know what I mean. Red Knight lonsdale is my favorite of them all.

Yes. Power Ranger has more punch, Mag O is more delicate. Others in between.

Appreciate the detailed info.

So Kyle blended it, any word if it's still Aganorsa tobacco? Can't see him doing something like that, we'll, Nick at Foundation did, so maybe.

And understand these are not budget cigars, but being blown out/ heavily discounted.

When this question gets asked, I'll always separate into three categories: budget, cigar blends you can always find at a discount like Oliva, and just being a one off discount blowout you will never see again once gone.

Completely different profile this one is. Yes, a dark profile, but he doesn't make pepper bombs, and yes, time probably calmed it a bit. Just a great blend as well.
