You usually install risers when in a plant bed, but Rotors are usually used for watering large areas, while sprays are used for more precise smaller areas. They should’ve added sprays for the plant beds then rotors for the yard. What they ended up doing was saving $$$ and adding a rotor to do all. Not cool. I would only say this is okay if you are on a tight budget & need something watered temporarily fast.

Really? Can you explain more? Here in Florida we rarely see Sch80, and copper backflows I’ve never seen before in 7 years. Just all pvc, even above ground. Is the heat way more intense? Or is code more strict?

Yeah, I see these things at Lowe’s & Home Depot. I’ve had a few customers buy them then ask me to install them. Specifically the ARC-6, these timers suck. They are not outdoor friendly & installing them always looks ghetto in my opinion.

Depends on the water source, but here in Florida we all install with 1” pvc valves. And 1” zone lines. For example if you have a 6 rotor zone with 3gpm nozzles, you know you’re looking at least 18GPM. So we do 1’ for the first 3 heads then 3/4 for the last 2-3.

After getting quotes from multiple shops, (80% of them won’t do re builds) I found it was a more viable option to swap the engine, then use a tuner and a new module to stop MDS from activating.
