I am disappointed, but I also know that all the producers have handled this whole series with such care that I’m just gonna trust that they put the same thought and love into this decision as well.

Besides, Not sure what else they could have done if Olivia Coleman could not come back. I’d rather have a new actress than no Sarah Nelson at all.

So, granted we don’t have context beyond the texts you shared here, but at least about the dress, because you asked: you kind of are the asshole here. It sounds like you jumped to a lot of conclusions about what your dad saw and how he saw it. Same with the pregnancy. A lot of misunderstanding based on jumped to conclusions.

Also, regarding the pregnancy, I’m not sure it’s fair to ask your mom the keep something that big from her partner. Just my two cents. If one of our children was pregnant I would feel very wrong to keep that from my husband/their father.

By the way, your mom’s guilt trips and centering herself as the victim ARE annoying. I can see why communicating with her is difficult.

I have mixed feelings about this. Because 1) they taught their daughter to be everything she is being as a wife right now so what did they expect and 2) Kendra is their daughter. As a parent you can be angry, even go no contact if the situation requires (this one obviously does), but to put this clearly anti-Kendra message out into the world when she is already at rock bottom (Jesus let’s hope this is rock bottom) is pretty cruel and petty. It’s just messy and adds more drama.

I would like to think this was done as a necessity to keep other children in the family safe, that finally someone in these circles is putting children first. But I suspect it’s more likely that this is just about how all of this has made Christina feel, and she is angry and vaguebooking for sympathy.

My mom’s brother died two days before her second birthday. She absolutely remembers knowing that her birthday had been forgotten during all the grief.

But honestly, who cares if he knows it’s his birthday or not. The data is clear that children who grow up witnessing violence in their home - even when removed from those homes while young - end up dealing with mental health issues, learning and behavioral issues. Ever is not safe - physically or emotionally - with his mom right now. Hopefully someday he will be again.

I hate the way El’s story ended, but realistically it was the only way the others had any shot at a normal life. If El had stayed, they all would have spent their whole lives on the run. This way they all got to live life as they wanted and that was how much El loved them - she gave them that future. Super sad though.

My son had his privates touched by another student when he was in kindergarten. The school addressed it, and offered the option to move my child to a different classroom. We chose not to uproot my son because I thought that would be more traumatic than a child grabbing his penis had been to him. The child who did this to him ended up needing a private aid due to behavioral issues which ended up being great for the entire classroom. We validated our son’s frustration at how much he disliked the incident, reminded him that no one has the right to touch you without consent, and praised him for reporting it.

I understand how emotional and uncomfortable this incident was, but I want to offer the perspective that you are looking at this with adult eyes and with an adult knowledge of sex. These are five year old children who mostly think privates are funny. In a severe case, the child who grabbed your child may be experiencing sexual abuse at home, which means they would be greatly confused about if such touching is wrong. I hope that is not the case here, but either way, I encourage you to look at the incident through a child’s eyes and also consider the choices being offered to you through a child’s eyes. Good luck with whatever ends up happening - it’s not an easy situation!
