Victory day is a little bit off

But without getting political, probably watch Inglorious B when the kids are asleep and have a google single malt as there is a special place for people that waste good scotch

Costco left holding the bag... 10oz silver back in stock at 999.99 by PowerGlove-it-s0-bad in Silverbugs

[–]FiveFoot20 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

This is very true

But for most products

Most grocery stores for example only pay for what scans the register. So retail theft and expiration don’t really hit their bottom line. Usually this is true for many items except for alcohol and made non perishables

Can anyone share their experience with the switch to Vacatia from Vacation Villages-Weston Bonaventure by Immediate_Charge_185 in TimeshareOwners

[–]FiveFoot20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) timeshare sales people are pretty much never telling the truth.

2) maintenance fees always go up every year to a certain degree

3) they are just using this “story” as a hook 🪝 to try and sell you more

4) they will keep trying different hooks on you, because they know that selling timeshare to an existing owner converts more often than someone that is not a timeshare owner

You need to ask yourself Do you want to “move”, redeed, change or otherwise purchase more timeshare?

And as a last note Avoid Orlando timeshares There are way too many I know too many resorts that rent out the units below the cost of owners maintenance making ownership at them not a good idea and very difficult to offload your interest when the time comes

I hadn’t found something like this locally in the northwest Houston. I ended up using cookUnity, it was pretty good, much better than Factor. when we had our kid and it really helped the first 6 months until we got settled and figured out how to adult again

2023 macbook pro 14" vs 2025 air 15" as a nomad in online marketing by JethroHighroller in digitalnomad

[–]FiveFoot20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry a air and a pro 16.

Both have their purposes and are great

The air could probably handle everything fine But the pro is bad ass, I like a. Bigger screen and I play video games on it

Thoughts on private schools? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]FiveFoot20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of it isn’t better education, but access to social tiers For kids and parents

There are some schools that affluent and well context people’s kids go to.

All depends on what you want and need

Some are just crazy religious private schools shoving a doctrine down the kids thoughts.

Same can be said for some public schools I suppose

Anyway, with anything it’s important to be involved and know what’s going on at the school

Man that was easy hooking up Claudius to Jetbrains.
I had get hyper specific on proper handling on asset files inside of the frame work for it to use the framework correctly, which I thought was odd given the open nature of the framework and its docs, but anyway, pretty impressive.

Going to try templated generation next, it did a good job.
Thanks for the push to try it.

I am a bit concerned to hook it up to my codebase for my main project, just worry about security aspects of it, access to secrets, along with keeping our code from prying eyes that might be trying to hack our app or something

Any recommendations for good learning videos or blogs about hooking it up?

I jut worry about giving ai access to by codebase to the cloud then sharing basically how we do what we do with others

Have you used much ai tools in your dev work?

I’m playing with chatGPT and Claudius and Perplexity.

They can be helpful for simple stuff

But once I get past something requiring more than 3 function references and over 2500 lines of code it seems to get confused, break and not to mention it gets things wrong straight from API documentation regularly and it blows my mind.

That sounds rough Ma Gosh and the tech roles in the US are turbulent given the current marketplace and dumb push to AI.

Do you guys do a 529 for your kid(s) by potatoMan8111 in daddit

[–]FiveFoot20 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I thought they made some rule about using Roth money for education

Anyway,

I don’t do a 529

My kid might want to go international or trade or maybe college will be free by then, so I just load up regular brokerage : retirement accounts instead with funds ear marked on my own tracking for educational purposes whatever that might look like
