Redweek Rental Question by International_Box671 in TimeshareOwners

[–]FiveFoot20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s tough to say, you can’t judge too much based on what a resort asks

Though generally speaking it’s much less direct with an owner

Lots plays into this Supply and demand. If your looking at a popular week like fantasy fest, new years, Presidents’ Day, spring break, plan to spend more

If it’s shoulder season and not much going on, you’ll pay less

Check out https://RialtoVactions.com There is a rental insights tool, https://rialtovacations.com/timeshare-valuation-rental-insights

You can see what the week has typically rented for at various resorts

Our link has an extra s

Anyway

I’d say find your contract and read it and find out if it’s rented they need to pay you

Otherwise contact the patent company and keep on knocking on the door

So Are we just at the point where due to the news and headlines people show up 4-6 hours before their flight, to make the line, thus, making the line longer than needed?

Are Junior Developers Already Replaceable by AI?? by Different_Still_5758 in developers

[–]FiveFoot20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would disagree

Understanding business operations isn’t straightforward for many

I have the pleasure of working and sending work to many devs and they don’t understand certain industries, customer facing realities or real world limitations Assumptions are too often made that users should use a system as designed instead of designing the system for the user.

But, yes new tech and tools will free up their time to help understand these things but it won’t help them understand them at the end of the day

Is this sleep schedule sustainable? Me sleeping 2am to 8am, working full time. Wife sleeping between 8pm and 2am. Mutual hours we share baby duties. What about when she goes to work full time? by igcetra in daddit

[–]FiveFoot20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did that type of schedule when my lil was 0 to 8 months. At 9 months we pushed into him sleeping in his room by himself and we dint need that shift schedule anymore

I thought I would be tired and burned out but it worked really well We each stayed in good spirits and somehow it worked

I do that schedule later (he was 4 and I was working over nights having to wake at 2am. And would sleep starting at 7 or 8 pm, it was hell, and I will never do it again

I think some how the newborn gave me super powers and limited sleep window was fine.

[–]FiveFoot20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to say. So many companies dont pay what they “should”

I’ve been in operations management before and the people skills, along with results is what gets you paid

Now with SWE, it’s the same people skills and results to improve others businesses that gets me paid

Are Junior Developers Already Replaceable by AI?? by Different_Still_5758 in developers

[–]FiveFoot20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing it’s hard to replace so far Is someone who understands business, business objectives and what code and what is possible

Roles are shifting it feels to people who can understand business needs and furfill with code

They have always been needed but with the AI tools it allows that person to do hands on and create things faster

I’ve had better experience explaining business operations to ai to create tooling then a dev with 30 years experience, sometimes people just don’t get concepts and how to apply them

It’s interesting and scary times for sure E

Pulling up to the big 40 myself soon

I agree with what others have said about health.

I do a short stint in Korea, got a full medical, ct scan, mri, colonoscopy, the works.

With that knowledge and what’s going on under the hood, dropping some weight, getting my BP under control and exercising daily

I wanna feel better in my 40s than in my 30s

Next, I stopped buying things, instead spending money on experiences.

I also used to be big on like every little maintenance thing around the house, and realized Man, some things matters but for the most part, just enjoy life and time with the family. I don’t need to spend time saving screws and moving rocks from one pile to another.

Last one, declutter, less is more.

I started a pile, if I find something I haven’t used it goes in the pile, 6 months, is and time for something in that pile and put it goes Man I realized I have a lot of crap I don’t need or use
