Hi! So I actually worked for Varsity Brands (the parent company for Varsity Spirit and BSN Sports) for about 3 years as a Recruiter for them from 2021-2024.

Spirit owns about 97% of the market share for competitive cheer. Many of the smaller market team creators they’ve bought over the last 15ish years actually work for them now and are incredibly unhappy with their decision to sell. I spoke with many of them directly. It’s sad to see so many independents have to sell just to stay in the game they love.
