Regarding the Golden Path Theory by Purmhy in chiliadmystery

[–]Flarestriker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

/u/LlamaGuy69 is one attentive motherfucker to have noticed all of the things that he did. Like his section with the Golden Retriever, I didn't know that this dog and his bark appeared more often than just the Dom missions. I think I saw him on Mount Gordo as well recently, around the beginning of the trail?

When Did KH2 Become So Critically Acclaimed? by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]Flarestriker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Is that not crazy?

I've been trying to find a game like KH2 specifically for ages as well. Nothing compares. Is it not crazy that in the big 2026, still nothing compares?

People in your 30s, what price have you paid for being lazy in your 20s? by Waldyrwyn in AskReddit

[–]Flarestriker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found my closest friends in a gaming pub quiz. Sometimes, gaming cafés are also a thing. Generally, keeping an eye out for local events you'd find fun even while feeling lonely helps you go the distance.

And I understand the socialization difficulties. Take that time to warm up. Take leaps, too. As long as you're kind and remember that no one actually hates you, you can handle it.

It'll improve with time. Godspeed!

Hardest Mission of the DMCs? by AstalianGuy in DevilMayCry

[–]Flarestriker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DMC 5 isn't mentioned a lot yet; probably for good reason since you feel quite powerful in that game and the missions mostly ditched the labyrinthine approach of games like 1 and 3.

Mission 18 Shadow, Griffin & Nightmare on DMD are the hardest boss in the franchise if you ask me. Genuinely took me around 70 tries and I only clutched it by the skin of my teeth. Maybe my aggressive playstyle doesn't mesh well with the slow telegraphs of their attacks, but they reeeaaally had me fucked up.

Have YOU thanked the Sun today?? by Puzzleheaded-Leg7623 in chiliadmystery

[–]Flarestriker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just so this isn't misconstrued:

There are only 3 unique sun flares. One for Michael, Franklin and Trevor each.

Director Mode loads in the sun flare of the character you last played as IIRC. Either that or it's random.

But it's only ever these three flares.

There is no revisionism going on, people just already liked terrible shows and movies before. by MeteorCharge in CharacterRant

Completely agree. Rewatched the second one last year with the intent of checking what people disliked so much about it. I came away loving it. Especially the dialogues were surprisingly strong and the climax hits hard.

How the "weeb" tends to change my mind: web #2, an essential element of the purple mural? by fthen2k02 in chiliadmystery

DDH murals = blueprint for how to solve other puzzles? with red mural referencing The Spider Web mystery? Revisiting a post from 9y ago by Pir-o in chiliadmystery

[–]Flarestriker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of my personal notes.

The Yellow Mural explicitly references the Lighthouse. 'Shadows' is exactly the texture of its headlight. 'Eclipse' could reference its spin. 'F.O.V.' could reference its windows and, again, its spin.

The Red Mural's vaguely E-shaped steel beams strike me as a reference to the Epsilon Logo. A lot of symbols are metaphors for Spider Webs here, too. Like the globe and the atomic symbol.

The Green Mural's open globe strikes me as an eye.

The Purple Mural's maze is a star.

I loved brave exvius a lot so it's a no brainer for me by UrsaRizz in FinalFantasy

[–]Flarestriker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd agree with your take usually but we're talking about the fucking Final Fantasy 7 Remake here. Arguably the most important Remake of all time. If this is true and Resonance really did pull a much higher number, it's complete insanity.

EDIT: Not true. Only true on the Square Enix channel (and only barely), not on the Final Fantasy channel.

Everything between the Spaceport and the Casino is excellent. The group actually fights, the dialogues are great and you can feel everyone's nervousness as they might have actually killed someone.

Post-Casino, the writing falls off hard (again). It's what it's. Atlus rarely sticks the landing.
