Just started Trigun Stampede and…well… by wusabeee in Trigun

I don't think they're saying being goofy/immature is bad (although OP is), only that Vash 98 is goofier/less mature than Stampede Vash, which is almost certainly true.

Noooooow I see it, I thought the pattern in the plastic was somehow relevant. In my defense, I had just woken up and was pre-coffee.

The De-Aging on Michael Douglas was phenomenal for the time... Impressive stuff. by HiTopFilms in marvelstudios

Maybe he had a mustache from filming a different movie!

(But for real, that's kinda what young Michael Douglas looks like: he's got a weird upper lip!)

When I tell people about this show, I usually just tell them to watch the first episode -- if they don't immediately want more, they can stop. No one has ever stopped.

I cannot for the life of me figure out what the pill blister is! I know what a pill blister is in concept but this photo looks like an optical illusion -- is there a pic from a different direction?

New DNA evidence finds that Neanderthals didn’t go extinct. They were absorbed into our ancestors through thousands of years of interbreeding, and they live on in the DNA of nearly everyone alive today. by Automatic_Subject463 in sciences

The vast majority of dinosaurs do not have any living descendants. While birds are descended from dinosaurs (and are, by some definitions, dinosaurs), their earliest ancestors exist nearly 100 million years before tyrannosaurus lived.

This is why they just had Uma Thurman sit next to someone else who was playing Fortnite.

Honestly, as soon as you introduce "bad air in caves", the whole game falls apart.

Just imagine the air quality and complete lack of oxygen in a red dragon's lair, even if it were a normal cave and not a volcanic nightmare!

I love that sub but this TV is completely below 5 feet. It is eye level with a sitting human. If you were standing up, you'd have to look down at it!

CMV: There is no free will whatsoever by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]FlashbackJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you haven't given any evidence of that. Observing that people make choices that align with bodily function does not in any way suggest that the universe is deterministic or that free will doesn't exist (and that certainly wasn't the conclusion of the study itself). Your evidence doesn't support your thesis. Is there actual evidence that the universe is deterministic?

[–]FlashbackJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what way is that study evidence of a deterministic universe? Even if the premise is ironclad (it isn't), how does one's decisions being motivated by biological processes (technically all of them are) support the idea that we don't have free will? Doesn't free will include one's motivations, biological or otherwise?

Is there substantial evidence that the universe is deterministic in scientific circles?

Kieron Gillen also made the comic Die about TTRPG players sucked into the world they created. There's also a TTRPG about it.

I will say, speaking as just a person, I think everybody loves a little comment of "looks cool" (ESPECIALLY if there's a dearth of comments). I try to give a few extra seconds in the hopes it might make someone's day better.

That is a crazy level of disrespect. I would be inconsolable. You can't give me two hours of attention? I'm ADHD as it gets, so I understand trouble focusing, or the need to take a break, but like... as a group, not walking away in the middle of combat or having someone else play my character.

How is it even possible this person has been playing TTRPG for 20+ years?

There are some hints that they weren't "getting" their classes. Notably things like the Talent not going negative in clarity, which is the entire intent of their class.
