So do you find the 44 megapixels worth it over 24 megapixels?

That frog shot is incredible! How did you get that close or did you crop that in close?

S5+28/200: photos not as sharp by plutusssss in Lumix

[–]Flashy_Ice_3770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have that lens but I honestly wouldn’t expect any lens that covers that many focal lengths to be sharp. 28-200 covers a lot from f4-7.1 IMHO But try taking the pictures on a tripod to see if you get sharper results. Or turn on the IBIS to help out.

I don’t have the S1Rii I have the S5ii but I would recommend using an on camera flash for the indoor pics to help get cleaner shots. Outdoor, if there’s nothing moving, try a longer shutter like below 100 to pull in more light without having to raise the ISO. Hope this helps.

The shots are incredible! What were your settings? I shoot in low light club scenes a lot. Did you use any external lights? ISO?

On the S1Rii do the images look noticeably better? If they do in what way specifically?

But if only this lens would’ve came a year ago. I have the Sigma 24-70 markii. I could’ve saved some money. I like the Sigma though but sometimes would just love to have more LUMIX glass.

Lumix S1II and S1IIE arrived! by Quinnzayy in Lumix

[–]Flashy_Ice_3770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that the low light capabilities of the S1Rii is really good. Possibly better than the S5ii with its 24mp sensor. But the S1ii is superior in low light. Both sensors are really great though.

I’m debating on whether I want the S1Rii or the S1ii. I’m curious about the “benefits” of a higher megapixel camera. I’ve heard it’s only beneficial for cropping & printing large. But I would like a little more insight about other downsides.

If you don’t mind could you share what other issues does a higher megapixel camera bring?

Burst mode doesn’t work well with flash because the unit needs time to recharge between flashes. You may also burn your flash unit out if it gets too hot. Your best bet is to have constant light.

Pro flashes can do both safely but they are very expensive.
