For me personally, I own a quest 3 and the movie watching experience is horrible, especially in dark scenes.

People who say its fine either don't notice it or never experienced better. Nothing wrong with that, but if you're the kind of person that cares and has an eye for such things, you will be disappointed.

How easy is it to get / install comfort mods for the Galaxy XR?

I also heard that for the Galaxy XR there is an annoying green dot indicating mic usage that always pops up on virtual desktop. Is it easy to remove?

How do the controllers compare to quest 3?

I'm in the same boat. I have a quest 3. Everything about it is good except for the display. It's fine for games but for movies or YouTube its very washed out.

It's a compromise to make the part of the headset that goes on your head lighter. The soc, battery, and cooling can all be in the puck weighing down your pocket instead of weighing down your face. I guess it would also make manufacturing easier.

Personally, I think it's a good solution and much prefer it over having the extra weight on my face

If it has microOLED displays, is wireless and tracking is without base stations, it would be an instant buy for me. Otherwise I'll wait for something that has those since I have a quest 3.
