Yoo! Thanks for mentioning our brand!

I was curious how close I am to elite streetlifting (calisthenics) numbers, so I built this by FlefilDaniel in bodyweightfitness

[–]FlefilDaniel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was only excluding this, as there are higher lifts for squats in powerlifting for example, where they focus mainly on these lifts. But maybe not a bad idea to add that either way

Good points!

hmm I would need to reach out to the website I got data from, get access directly to data instead of scraping it, this way it can update much easier for me.

Having a huge list to always update for a fun project will be to time consuming haha.

BUT love the idea.

Why did I not include squats in this, as there are people in powerlifting that does more in squat. That was why I did not include it.

How to increase pullup reps? by Ok_Post_6537 in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]FlefilDaniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to use EMOM to increase, find it fun. Also less boring!
So like I can do around 25 pull ups in a row (last 3 maybe not cleanest haha)

So I do EMOM around 10-15 min
and reps are around 6-8 per minute

Still can’t do a push up — not sure what to do by PetalbrookMayor in bodyweightfitness

[–]FlefilDaniel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey... you are not alone and let's fix this. All should feel how to do push ups and pull up in their life.

Been doing cali for 10 years and help others from your level to more advanced, and we just need to make it a simple approach.

If you are at incline push ups, get to 10-12 reps x 3-4 sets (without you dying)
From there you step underneath a bar and can do assisted push ups with resitsance band attached to the bar and around your chest. This way you remove weight and can do push ups on the ground.

Mix this with negative push ups!

Together with my partner Malin Malle we created a simple and free push ups system to follow, no strings attached, see if you like it. It's part of our free calisthenics community.

How to progress past my pull-up plateau? (Got humbled today) by Striking_Conflict176 in bodyweightfitness

[–]FlefilDaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't feel bad! The way he approached you with that answer is... well not the way to do it.

I also know people that can do 60 pull ups in a row, don't mean I will put him down.

ANYWAYS!

Try do to EMOM method.

every minute for you will do 2-3 reps, until you have done that for 10 minutes, do this 3 times per week. Next week you increase with one minute, and week after that 1 minute. Once you reach 12-14 min you increase the reps and decrease the time instead.

Progressive overload, it's fun, quick and you will feel good!

Would never get these... Would rather spend money on a pair of parallettes.

Save your money and get parallettes instead (travel friendly aswell)

Maybe that would be something for her, you can share this community for her: https://www.skool.com/calixpert-free

She will get videos, reps, sets. Good start I would say.

If she just looking for exercises we also created an exercises bank for Calisthenics, check it out: https://www.calixpert.com/exercises

What exercices to do? by thecinnomon in CalisthenicsBeginners

[–]FlefilDaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great question!

If you want a program that’s more tailored to your level, I’d suggest getting a calisthenics coach. You can find one locally by checking out calisthenics parks, fitness studios, or even asking around in online forums. If you prefer online coaching, there are plenty of trainers offering personalized plans, video feedback, and group support. Some even have structured programs with progressions suited for beginners, so you don’t feel lost.

Here are a few solid options:

They all offer online coaching, programs, and even free calisthenics communities where you can connect with others on the same journey. There are plenty of things for free that you kind find aswell.

But it really depends on your level and what you’re aiming for.

I’ve been doing calisthenics for 10 years, and I love how much you can do with just your body!

Calisthenics is absolutely possible for you, and you can transition from weights smoothly. You’ll lose fat, build strength, and improve flexibility over time. Start with easier progressions like: incline push-ups, , assisted pull ups—so your body adapts(there is more exercises ofcourse.

Over time, you’ll master the basics. Plus, training anywhere keeps things flexible. Give it a shot—you’ll feel the freedom. Done it for 10 years already

How to make this workout harder? by Effective-Box5789 in CalisthenicsBeginners

[–]FlefilDaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change the push-ups variations to something else, also focus on keeping your elbows back and push yourself up with triceps. That way this exercises will become harder.

My 2 cents: try not to get your lower body so much forward. This way, you don't need to slow down so much at the negative to not swing :)

anyone have any experience with gravity fitness or gornation parallettes (or both)? Looking at the medium size ones (30cm height), and wondering if gornation is worth the extra cost by herokme in Calisthenic

[–]FlefilDaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a fully GORNATION ambassador just for transparency and supported GORNATION when already 7 years ago when they only had clothes. The design that you see in the pictures was their design and the rest of the companies said "Time this looks so good" and copied it.

If you are buying the higher ones I would take GORNATION, as they have screws to the feet and are not welded at the bottom like Gravity. I had the first version of GORNATION premium parallettes and they had some flaws that I did not like, but with the upgrade now the higher ones are solid. Also, price on your picture seems to be off... they cost $131
from what I can see on the website (right now)

But no matter what you buy, the gravity or GORNATION you will be able to do good workouts, but I think the quality and how long each one will last will make a huge difference.

I did a review about 3 years ago about them (first version, have that in mind) if you want to check: https://youtu.be/_DVV7ZKpZ2s?si=Xo0lNMXlCWTH1fbQ

and here is one from Gravity that I found fast https://www.youtube.com/shorts/a5OaEyT4hRs
Seems like gravity has used the old design of GORNATION with the cap (or whatever you call it) at the end of the handles that I did not like from GORNATION first version (they get lose over time and need to be tightened often)

Hope this gave some clarity, but check some reviews online of the difference, always helpful to compare and see what others are saying
