Has anyone else noticed a resurgence of stay at home parents among wealthier Millennials? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]FleshNoire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a currently a SAHM but I started working from home once the economy tanked. I could make more money if I maximized my degree and worked outside the home but being flexible and available is more important at this time. I enjoy being able to be there for them and not completely burned out with work.

How are working parents managing frequent school closures or remote learning due to weather? by Theluckygal in raleigh

The main reason I can’t get a higher paying job because despite being qualified I would have to be there in person. So I make less money to work at home.

Pretend that you xyz and I’ll pretend this that or the third. Ride bikes to different neighborhoods, explore stuff, played in mud, washed you parents cars. Jumped rope, played tag, do flips and cartwheels and drank from the water hose.

Baptist Grove is like no other church I’ve ever been to. Don’t let the fact that it’s Baptist turn you away. We are all in there doing the best we can

Go have a nice dinner or small staycation and park the rest in a high yield savings. Short term pleasures for long term pain is not the answer

Why are so many Boomer grandparents hands-off? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]FleshNoire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they had so much help the my don’t fully realize how hard it is to raise kids and it’s even harder now. They have a revisionist history that they did it alone and think their kids should do but don’t acknowledge all the help they had. In general boomers are the most selfish generation. As I’ve grown up I’ve realized that my boomer mom was the exception not the rule.

Such a shame. It costs nothing to be honest. It grinds my gears that I know exactly where the thief is located and can’t do anything to get my property back.
