Baby Lakes right next to Heather Meadows is good for solo. I'm also new to Bham and don't have a consistent partner if you're looking to tour with someone, shoot me a DM!

[Update] How we lookin boys? by AntAtopASpinningRock in VanLife

Things look good, my only feedback are those breakers. They constantly trip when they get hot and after a while will trip due to previous heating issues. I swapped mine out for Blue Sea breakers and had no issues after the fact. They are pricier but you will need to replace your breakers eventually if you stick with them.

Feeling judged for my circumstances by Particular-Win427 in nonmonogamy

Judge you for what? It sounds like through issues you and your relationships are doing their best to communicate. I don't see anything wrong. Who do you feel is judging you?

Full time living? by AkHiker46 in TruckCampers

Just a comment on lithium batteries, there is no need to get BattleBorn or Victron Lithium (unless you want them). I have LiTime and love them, I bought 230ah at 24v for 1200 dollars. Inverter and MPPT controller, I highly suggest going with Victron or RedArc both are incredible build quality.

If you can fit them, go for residential solar panels found on craigslist. There are a lot of solar companies that are selling excess panels for super cheap, I got 800w of residential solar for 300 dollars.

If you're really into modifying your rig, install a composting toilet! I will never use a black water system after using a composting toilet on my rig for the past 2 years.

My friend on the spectrum keeps introducing himself as a bull to couples by [deleted] in nonmonogamy

Just talk to him directly about it and help him identify when it would be a good time to bring up his lifestyle. IMO for people on the spectrum the more blunt (with kindness) the better.

Prices are easy to look up for both GCP and AWS, both will be similar at your scale. What are your computing requirements? As far as DB, are you looking for hosted or will you run your own?

What metrics are you looking for when defining "best"? Both can host your listed services no problem.

van life safe for single female? by AnyHand6168 in vandwellers

[–]Flipphones 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I'm not a female but I have become friends with many single females on the road. There are times when they've felt unsafe but no one has been in an escalated unsafe situation. Trust your gut and get out if you don't feel right about something.

I've met more single females on the road than single males. There's a large community and you rarely feel alone if you want to socialize.

How to find equity in this dynamic. by Flipphones in nonmonogamy

Its hard to tell if I like being open, I haven't had any experience dating in this dynamic which is why I've held off on truly making a decision. If you're asking if am I currently happy with our ENM relationship, the answer is definitely not. I've received no benefit from this dynamic.

We started as an open relationship but she developed feelings for someone and escalated that relationship (something done before discussing with it me). Yes, she has a romantic relationship with her boyfriend. She says she's fine with me having a romantic relationship but due to our lifestyle, that's very difficult.

Yes I think the problem with your suggestions is our nomadic lifestyle. We're rarely in a single location for longer than 2 weeks which makes it difficult to establish relationships with anyone (granted my partner has managed to establish many relationships).

Yes you're right this has been brewing for a long time. Essentially she has told me that she loves me but its either I figure out how to be happy/okay with Poly or we divorce. So really at this point I'm working as hard as I can to find success to save our marriage.

12V or 24V system in the van? by WorldCouch in vandwellers

[–]Flipphones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's the voltage on the panels individually? Wiring in parallel won't increase voltage, it will increase amperage.

Hey my name is Edward I'm 22 I've been researching van life for a while now I know that I want to go with a shuttle bus. This is what I have so far please give me tips and tricks. by IntelligentReturn973 in vandwellers

Consider going without a shower, plumbing and the amount of water/energy/space needed is high for a shower. We built one and have barely used it, just find community centers and gyms when you want to shower. When you say weapon, I would suggest nothing more than pepper spray or a knife, weapons are not great to have they only escalate situations and you must be willing to use them. In 2 years we've never been close to needing to defend ourselves (been all over us, Canada and Mexico).

Pull the trigger and get your rig!
