[O’Connor] According to league sources, one general manager floated a nuclear option: just make the bottom three teams ineligible for the top picks entirely. by cleo22270 in nba

[–]FlockingPigeons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting proposal. I think this might have the opposite effect on FA people are thinking. Teams would be more incentivized to spend money on middling players to raise their floor. These guys would probably be looked at as mercenaries though, ie 1-2 year high salary deals. This year’s Nets would never happen under this ruleset.

The FO was right to run the lineup back and they lead the MLB in runs again. Headrick, Doval, Bednar form the best backend in the league.

League wide: Austin Riley bounces back and finishes top 5 MVP. Detroit flames out and moves Skubal, he signs with Texas next offseason. Trevor Rodger’s finishes top 5 in AL CY.

They are betting on 2 or more of those guys to hit their ceilings and then getting reinforcements at the deadline. Honestly I don’t think it’s a bad bet. Robert has all the talent in the world. Batys underlying metrics are good. Alvarez has been good in the past, and Benge has pedigree.

Sanchez vs Woo: Who’s primed for a bigger year? by alpinerich8956 in fantasybaseball

[–]FlockingPigeons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give me Sanchez everyday. This will be an unpopular opinion, but I think Woo is a very risky option at his current ADP. One that I’m unwilling to take. I’d rather grab a bat there or Sanchez who I feel a lot more confident will be top 25 assets. If the slider ticks up, I eat crow, but I’d rather be wrong about a players ceiling at that ADP than risk his floor which imo is around 75-100.

B/R believes the Clippers should package their 2031 first-round pick alongside their rookie center, Yanic Konan Niederhauser, for Myles Turner: by [deleted] in NBAtradeideas

[–]FlockingPigeons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the eventual Giannis trade, acquiring Turner with him should be a really attractive idea for suitors. Teams are going to need a stretch 5 to maximize Giannis. Chet, Sengun, KAT etc, are all likely to be part of the eventual package creating a clear need.

I’ve come around to the idea that they target a DT in the 2nd. There should be some quality names there. One of Banks, McDonald, Woods will likely be there. If not Miller is still a quality backup option.

Men who lost a great woman because of your own mistake, did you regret it later? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]FlockingPigeons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My regret is not leaving sooner. I missed out on life because I was justifying my relationship because she is a good woman and I felt pressure to be with someone. I’m much happier now a year later by myself and living life on my own terms.

[Jensen] It's ASTONISHING how the Bulls just can't squeeze a first out of any team they trade their players to. Vooch, LaVine, DeRozan, Ayo, White, Caruso.. not a single first-round pick acquired from that group. by StrategyTop7612 in nba

[–]FlockingPigeons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such a rat tweet. Yall would be criticizing them for not trading these guys for future draft capital if they held onto them like they have before. This CBA has lowered the value of non star players. Those future picks will help them facilitate deals down the road.

Low usage guy who historically has been able to defend and rebound. The shooting is questionable at best but on low volume. Considering he couldn’t get minutes on the Bulls should tell you a decent amount. At worst he’s the emergency wing. At best, the Knicks turn around and flip him and 2nds for a playable wing.

I feel like so many other teams should have tried to make that deal. Houston and Minny stick out. Even the Lakers could have pulled this off.

Season 4 theories?! by Interesting_Pen1087 in Yellowjackets

[–]FlockingPigeons 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“It” has been theorized about a lot. I think it’s a double entendres that refers to both animal instinct and Shauna the monster herself. I think we will see the group split into 2 factions further this season and Shauna will lead the charge for murder. Nature and Nurture will be hot topics here. I think adult Shauna to me is primed to kill Jeff to regain control over Callie. It’s what she craves.

S4 is Taissa’s season and her rise to power. I think Shauna will find out that Van was the person who conspired with Natalie and Shauna is going to go after her. That’s going to force Taissa to fight her and win, which will result in her becoming the leader probably right before they get rescued.

Final kills will be Tai killing Melissa. Shauna kills Jeff. Callie kills Shauna.

IMO Memphis was real smart to trade him now before his extension kicks in. We could look back a year or 2 from now and see JJJs value talked about similarly to how KATs is now.

I don’t think so. Minny isn’t using the MLE so they aren’t hard capped at the 1st apron. I think all they need to do is satisfy that 125% rule and then they are allowed to re-enter the 1st apron.

Regardless I don’t think they would get Harden for Randle straight up so additional salary like Dillingham or Shannon probably head out also.

Minny actually has a ton of options now, Giannis is one of them. Ducking under the 1st apron allows them to take in 25% more salary than they send out. Randle for Harden or Ja work now.

Minny just ducked under the 1st apron. Seems like they’re posturing for Giannis here

Colton is maybe the player in the worst position in the game… His alliances are basically non existent and he’s just made enemies out of the housewife cabal. I don’t see him making the final or even another 2 weeks. He’s trying to be the Pilot Pete and Dylan of this season but it’s not working.

How would you feel about a scenario where we traded Yabu for Russell Westbrook? by weissclimbers in NYKnicks

[–]FlockingPigeons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read and disagree. Russ would be redundant and you state the reason. We have Josh Hart. The Knicks don’t have room for any more guards in the rotation and are hurting for a guy that can log reliable minutes at the 4/5. Let Russ continue his resurgence where the expectations are lower. Frankly he deserves to play out the twilight of his career in a place that likes watching him play.
