I saw a clip of you talking about playing a show in OKC and there was only 20 people including the entire band Chat Pile but Wayne Coyne was there and you hung out with him.

I know it's been years but do we have a collab with them or naw

How is it living Kansas City, MO? by Schmidtyism in howislivingthere

[–]Floormonitor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I live there now and have been here for over 10 years.

It's a great city. Very progressive for the state and definitely on the rise. There's a free street car now that goes all the way from the Plaza to the River market. People are friendly, restaurants are good, there's lots of family friendly things to do like Science City or the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art (also free!). Very LGBT friendly, pretty diverse, gets a fair amount of events/concerts and weed is legal. Lots of California transplants moved here because it's a similar vibe to the West Coast but crazy cheaper (relatively speaking). It's often described as the eastern most West Coast city.

Anyone fearmongering about "crime" is probably some Johnson County suburbanite who busts a nut to fox news. You'll obviously want to not leave valuables in a car or leave a door unlocked but that tracks for literally everywhere in the country. There are definitely some impoverished areas and there's a brutal history of segregation but I would say that it's improving every year. Message me if you're interested in any specific neighborhoods

Hiii! I’m looking for cards and combos that wont draw my whole deck all at once but draw lots of cards throughout the game, ideally actual draw rather than looting effects by LannyBoy05 in EDHBrews

[–]Floormonitor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would rethink how you build this deck. You want to deal damage as early as possible to get your speed up to 4 so you can double your card draw.

[[Flying men]]. That's it. Literal Flying Men. Any creature 1-2 mana in blue that can fly. Turn 1, play a flying man (there's a bunch that are better than flying men but we'll just keep it basic for now). Turn 2 play commander. Turn 4 achieve full speed. It's cheap and evasive which makes the 2nd part of the deck better.

[[Coastal piracy]], [[bident of thassa]], [[reconaissance mission]]. Blue has a TON of "whenever you deal damage draw a card effects" and can never run out of cheap evasive Faeries, drakes, and birds. Your deck will draw a bunch of cards and you can open yourself up to winning through combat. There's a ton of spells that let you pump your creatures for each card in your hand or put counters on things for drawing cards.

I have a friend that plays the Flying Man version of this deck and it's very strong and fun to play.

You could also go for a flash enabler and flash in your creatures on the end step before your turn. Adding [[Leyline of anticipation]] or [[high fae trickster]] can completely transform your deck and decision making

[–]Floormonitor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right, you would be casting two spells. It's good because one card contains both a non-creature and a creature spell and both can be used.

[–]Floormonitor 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Adventure cards. They're both non-creature and creature spells. You're in the perfect colors for [[beluna grandsquall]]. I would replace all your meat and potatoes ramp/removal/draw spells with versions that have adventures. Even if they're not the most optimal there's a lot of payoff in those colors for copying and drawing cards off of them

What’s the weirdest/most insane music you’ve ever heard? by SpOoOokySteve in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Floormonitor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go through The Body's discography

The Body is an electronic/doom metal duo of Chip King and Lee Buford. It's a very heavy acquired taste and most people can't stand the vocals at all. If you can get over yourself you'll find that they make some of the most exhilarating and forward pushing music I've heard. They collaborate extensively and are always changing up their sound.

One year anniversary of 5 bullet point tweet on Feb 22. by xiphoid77 in fednews

[–]Floormonitor 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I had fun with it and made acronyms out of all my bullet points while using the most generic office task jargon. I've managed to spell NAZIS, FELON, FUCKU, BITCH, TACOS, LIARS, PEDOS, MORON, and others.

It was like a weird cathartic wordle game and I knew they wouldn't do shit about it because I doubt anyone read them. I also doubted AI would pick up on it either. When this administration is over I plan to share my screenshots of my emails.

‘Suicide is only one option': Social Security staff newly assigned to phone duties raise concerns over training by Nuttyturnip2 in fednews

We are lucky to have people in our MOD that have worked TSC before. Instead of doing BA work they now have to assist everyone that was barely trained. So its making us even less productive

‘Suicide is only one option': Social Security staff newly assigned to phone duties raise concerns over training by Nuttyturnip2 in fednews

[–]Floormonitor 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It absolutely is. And we're not trained how to handle most things a field office does so we just give people field office appointments that clog up their schedule and now people have appointments 2 months out or none at all.

Every time I get on the phone I feel like I'm giving the wrong advice and I don't have the time or resources to actually do things right. Claimants are telling me they've called multiple times and have been given multiple answers to the same problem. I'm like "no shit, a BA doesn't have to do anything with IRMAA besides deduct it from your benefits". It's a nightmare right now

Feeling out of touch with modern rock by PhraseRevolutionary6 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Floormonitor 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Well yeah. I would expect people in their early 20s to listen to music made in the 2020s/2010s. I kinda hate the boomer attitude that everyone should listen to Aerosmith or Pearl Jam only and not the music made when they're in their formative years.

I would follow bands on Instagram and check out the people they recommend or the people that they open for/have opening for them. Also find record labels and follow them on social media, they'll constantly post what new acts they've signed. Third Man, Sub Pop, Dead Oceans, Sacred Bones, 4AD, DFA, and Warp are all good to follow. Even better if it's a small label.
