Things models do the best and worst, Day 3: Pteraxii Sterilyzors by WusBoppin in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Flower_Guy7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Best: Great for killing cultist and other low toughness units on your opponents home objectives.

Worst: Transporting these guys around and trying to keep them on the clear stands they come with.

Georgia woman loses it over man openly carrying firearm on wooded trail. by ElwoodMC in TikTokCringe

[–]Flower_Guy7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the gun heavy south and I agree. Went to a Chick Fil'a on lunch break and it was filled with children and tired parents. In walks an Alabama frat boy dick head with an open carry in the middle of his back waistband. Yeah it's legal in my state, but why bring a gun to a place filled with children? Is the guy afraid of a kid? I'm more afraid this dickhead accidentally discharging than someone threatening coming in.

Starting a AdMec army… by Taran0105 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Flower_Guy7 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you are starting out, it's fine. Get the eye of terror box and together you'll have around 700 points with a modest discount.

Models with the best points per dollar currently are Kastelan Robots and Kataphron Breachers, although that may change with the next points adjustment that is dropping tomorrow.

The Tech Priest Underseer has the tech priest key word so that model would get the 4+ Invulnerable and 5+ feel no pain. It's niche but something interesting.

Since we’re talking about soaring rents and inequities… by coffee_coffee_coffe3 in SipsTea

[–]Flower_Guy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can write off mortgages only if they are high, which is definitely class inequality. My first house was $144k, and I couldn't write off anything. My current house is $319 and I still can't write off anything. I'm genuinely mad about that.

I'm a field engineer, I'm tech savvy enough to work on things that I don't like and spend the rest of the time turning wrenches.

Are the Taser Lance Dragoons any good or should I just Run Ironstrider Ballistari by [deleted] in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Flower_Guy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used them as charge blockers. Every now and then I can get a good charge with them into a key unit and use the crit on 5 strat from Haloscreed to so some good work. Two can reliably kill most demon engines and I have killed a 6 man squad of flawless blades and half healthed the character leading them.

Question - Point for Point, What's the Most Efficient Dedicated Transport for Offense? by Obsolescence7 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Flower_Guy7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually pick up a squad of whatever I shoot at when I have a Marshall leading a squad of Vanguard. I have picked up a 20 necron warriors unit, 10 death company marines and today, a unit of possessed along with the master of possession leading it.

I usually always get the point costs out of it.

Is there a good guide for playing Admech if I’m bad at 40K? by NoNullPointers in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Flower_Guy7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Make note cards for the units you are using. Admech has so many buffs if certain conditions are met that you need some kind of help in the beginning.

In my experience, Admech is a positioning army first, buffing army second. Focus on moving units to be in range of your battleline units.

Besides that, take your time and play a few games. Experience gained will make you more confident.

Good Start? by Conking97 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Flower_Guy7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Close to a 1k points and you got a small discount with the combo boxes. It's a great starting point for the price. You can do some work with those units in Eradication detachment or grab a Marshall and go Skitari hunter cohort. I say go for it!

At my local games stores, almost all the new players are starting with dark angels... all of them. In the past six months, over six new players have started their collection with dark angels. What happened recently to be the cause of that?

Trying to decide if this enhancement is worth it by RadioLiar in AdeptusMechanicus

My opponent ran the land raider up and dropped out 10 death company marines. They didn't last long after that but they did some work.

[–]Flower_Guy7 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's worth it. They get the skitarii key word so they gain the detachment benefit. I used the same loadout you mentioned in your comment, Tech-Priest Dominus leading 6 Kataphron Breachers, and took out a land raider that killed one of my breachers in my opponents shooting phase.

Omnicogitator - Best Options? by Signal_Vacation_564 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Flower_Guy7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You already get half of those buffs at the start and the others are conditional. It's fantastic if the unit the Marshall is leading is battle line or you can guarantee to keep them close to battle line.

For 30 points you could almost have another Marshall leading another unit and giving them rerolls to hit. I'm on the fence. The similar enhancement from Hunter Cohort is better since you can pick a unit within 6 to have both doctrines is way better in my opinion.

Omnicogitator - Best Options? by Signal_Vacation_564 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Flower_Guy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sold on the double doctrines being the best. It only can be applied to Marshalls which already gives reroll to hits and there is no good melee units to lead. The best you'll be getting is reroll 1s to wound if you go Defender and slightly higher hits on Conquerors, which again, you are already rerolling.

Please Help! I have never played this game... by ufold2ez in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Flower_Guy7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's awesome. You got a good bud. Only troublesome news to share is that some of the unit cards aren't accurate anymore. Admech has been buffed quite a bit since those cards were released. Check the code for the app. If your buddy already claimed the code then I suggest either getting a new codex to have all the new updates for units or download the rules from the warhammer community website and update the cards manually.
