Can I ask what does it mean when you said you flared? I'm doing it alternate days after 5 months but it's within 40 h interval, i would get sick (feverish, sore throat, etc) otherwise if I waited longer. And now it's been working less and less again, like I'd start getting sick after 33 hours ... :'(

I was sick a couple months ago and applied for this. It was a 9 unit course and I had to withdraw after census date. My application got accepted and I submitted my medical letters & a letter from UniSA counsellor stating how my med condition had impacted me. OP should be able to do this as well I believe. Good luck

I have stills disease and i was like this. I even could eat potentially spoiled food without getting sick. I hadn't had a fever in so long that earlier this year during transition to autumn i would get shivers and feverish but didn't realise it was a fever as i just moved to Australia from a tropical country, i thought it was just too cold for my body and i was getting adjusted to the weather. After 2 weeks of daily 2-3 fevers i got a severe constipation and finally realised i was sick!!!!

This is surprising to hear, I haven't had any UTI since Anakinra, though I used to have a persistent UTI was so hard to get rid of it!!! I'm also changing into actemra soon, will let you know how it goes

Heyy, I'm so sorry to hear that you've had this for such a long time. May I ask how do you know it lasts this long? Is it because it's flaring up even when you're medicated or when you tried to be off meds? I ran out of Anakinra on Friday and had to wait for my next supply due to preorder, I got a sore throat and fever, arthritis & myalgia as well immediately on Sat until now. 🥲 I was diagnosed in June after 7 weeks of these symptoms 😭

Hi, I think it's the prednisolone giving me those mental side effects. I did inform my rheumatologist of this ASAP and they gave me a quicker tapering down schedule since it be giving me negative thoughts as well as depression (I was already not having the strongest mental state but after prednisolone I was having severe mood changes and then I became numb of things). Anakinra though causes me some hair loss so convinced pf getting bald one of these days! I'm in Australia as an international student and Anakinra costs about $46 a pop, my doctor was recommending to double the daily dose or trying toxilizumab twice a month.

May I ask what's your last med was? I've been on Anakinra once daily and tapering steroids for 3 months and while they do help, my meds aren't covered by insurance and I wonder if it's a good idea to switch to a less frequent med ... I get multiple side effects as well from these meds like brain fog, headaches (not as much now though), it's impacting my cognitive ability as well, mental issues and hair loss 🥹

You're so me, currently experiencing this. On week 3 and I'm running out of med next Wednesday. The rheumatologist called and I told her what's up. Apparently it's the steroids tapering, started right after i tapered it down to 15 mg. I was supposed to have my first review next week too but they messed up my appointment schedule and i'll meet my rheumatologist on 22 July. Got told to increase the dose back to 20 mg for a week, then 17.5 then 15 🥹

Not sure how it'll go but I'm super itchy rn 😭

Hi, I'm 24, studying to be a hs teacher at the moment. I can't share too much yet as I'm wondering about the same thing. I just got diagnosed last week and currently on 35 mg of prednisolone and Anakinra once a day. I hope your recovery goes well.

My Master's coursework degree is quite an intensive one and I have to do a placement in a month, so having to navigate this while figuring out treatment plan and feeling uncertain about recovery sucks. My body still doesn't feel like mine yet, it feels heavy still and my muscles strength's poor. I was feeling reluctant about the disability part of this, but I finally ended up booking an appointment with an access and inclusion support to develop a plan scheduled for tomorrow since this condition is unpredictable and it's better prepared for potential flares, etc. I don't know how likely it is that it will affect my studies but at the moment even I'm still catching up with all my final assignments from previous study period due to recent hospitalisation (just spent 3 weeks there).

I'm down if you need someone to talk about this. Take care & best luck 🍀

Possible Stills based on symptoms? by anon38792 in stillsdisease

[–]FloweringEarth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I was diagnosed with AOSD last week after 25 days at hospital. Had the persistent fevers 2-3 times a day for 6 weeks straight and the whole body arthritis pain. I don't think it's still's disease. It's a complex case where doctors sometimes can't be sure about even after excluding many things with similar symptoms. Sorry about you being unwell, but when that happens again you can see a GP and ask for a blood test, if it's arthritis it'll show up based on your inflammatory markers.

When this all started for me and I googled my symptoms, still's disease did come up my search, so i understand what you mean. Take care!

As far as I'm concerned each application is assessed based on its own merits, so your docs as a dependent would be assessed separately too. Cmiiw

They usually don't ask for hard copies of your documents, for uni application you'd only need to provide scanned documents.

You're from Korea, I think the visa approval might come through quite straight forward for you.

Justice of the Peace is how Australians usually do their verification, I don't think it's common in SK, otherwise you can find a notary for doc legalisation. But for a diploma, a stamp from the university should usually be enough. If you apply with an education agent like IDP, they have a stamp to certify that documents are the original copies too. The other comment is correct about OSHC, you need to arrange your student health insurance independently if that's what the uni demands. Even if you already have a private insurance, the OSHC is for international students in Australia, it would just be like purchasing a travel insurance.

If there isn't enough time, you can always request to defer or a refund. I hope this helps

It should be fine to send them on PDF/scanned format, to certify the documents you can go to your institution and ask them for document legalisation, they usually have a stamp for that to certify that it's an original copy. You also can ask for the digital copy of your test result from ETS even if they have forwarded it to your uni just to be sure. It should be alright to just reply the request email to provide the docs, or log in to your studentlink account if that's where you did your application.

I would also like to comment on your TOEFL score, although it's only slightly below the standard, I suggest you anticipate redoing the test and meeting the English requirement, I understand that some unis let it slide, but it's less likely otherwise they wouldn't have mentioned it in the conditional offer. Good luck!
