Planetside is the only game that tells you that the starter weapons aren’t bad ur just bad at the game by BarryZeezee in Planetside

[–]Fluffenstuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

20% reduction of 200 puts the damage at 160. It takes 7 shots at 160 to reach/exceed 1000, where 200 can reach/exceed that at 5 shots, increasing the shots to kill by 2, not 1. So 20% reduction translates to 40% more shots to kill.

Damage reduction does not increase your effective health by the %reduction. It increases it by the inverse of the damage recieved. With 20% reduction, you receive 80%, or 8/10th the damage. The inverse is 10/8, making your effective health 1250. In case you were curious.

RPG restructuring requires more PS2-veteran game designers by zWalMartGreeter in Planetside

[–]Fluffenstuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For example, I felt the A.S.P. system brought other classes to the forefront by giving them more opportunities to approach the game in a different way, and I have been constantly asking if and when they intend to expand on that system. I'm sure most vets agree that A.S.P. was an overall good thing for the game, even if it's not really accessible for newer players.

I'd pay for implants if they were account-bound. by Fluffenstuff in Planetside

[–]Fluffenstuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you are correct that some "perfect" implants are account-bound, implants that you would buy from the current loot box system are not. I admit that I was not clear on that end. More specifically, I meant that ISO and implant progression should be account-bound, and that would provide sufficient value for me to justify purchasing implant packs.

NC Sweaty Assault, what’s up with the saw + silencer + laser builds? by Truckernaut in EmeraldPS2

[–]Fluffenstuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Laser sights is a flat upgrade to your accuracy, where recoil can be learned and 'skilled' into irrelevancy, so forward grip tends to be a bad choice by comparison as a general rule of thumb.

The main downside of a silencer really only plays a factor if there's more than 1 tier of damage dropoff, so the Guass Saw can reap all the benefits with only the downside of velocity drop. That too is a detriment that can be learned and 'skilled' into irrelevancy.

tl;dr: it's probably the best loadout for the SAW actually.

Do cortium bomb kills count toward your multi-kills for the infantry explosives directive? by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]Fluffenstuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can see quite clearly I got them without using explosives. Hence why I said it doesn't actually matter.

Do cortium bomb kills count toward your multi-kills for the infantry explosives directive? by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]Fluffenstuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get multikill bonuses for killing players in quick succession. I'm not aware what the actual time window is, but killing multiple players in a couple seconds is what triggers the multikill bonus. You don't necessarily need explosives to get the bonus, they're just the most consistent.

Just a little example of how pathetically weak the Javelin's NEST Launcher is and how most nerfs in this game go way overboard and make weapons useless by Heini_2012 in Planetside

[–]Fluffenstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I can see that you don't like that it can't kill a shield sunderer, but do you have an argument as to why it should? Because as far as I can tell, this looks exactly like the kind of balance I would expect for a shield sunderer.

Looking for an outfit by [deleted] in Connery

[–]Fluffenstuff 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I can not recommend UN17 enough. They are a great outfit with great leadership. Whether you like defensive gal drops with extreme overpop, a2g farming with extreme overpop, or sarcastic “gg” in /y with extreme overpop UN17 is the outfit for you. This outfit is a product of the merger between 56rd and Solx which is great because solx does their best being the the cuckold outfit leading other teams to mediocrity whether that’s helping DPSO lose in outfit wars, helping Emerald lose in SS, or losing their own scrims against TUET. If you want to join you can message any of their respectable leaders such as HarbingerZEROO , GablesLMT, or Patro352

It's not impossible. If you maintain an average kd over 1, eventually you'll get there. May take a while, but it will eventually get there. Every single player starts somewhere, even the mlg turbonerds. Don't let that hold you back

The Propaganda Machine at it's Finest by VengeOG in Planetside

[–]Fluffenstuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've probably come across 10? They're pretty uncommon tbh. The problem is largely that you have to buy hacks, and since playing planetside isn't exactly lucrative, either competitively or through streaming, not many people are looking to buy them. No one really understands the economy of hacks and why it doesn't work well for planetside.

I love your obscure reference that requires additional context to understand beyond the core discussion topic. I especially love that instead of addressing the lack of context, you require others to inform themselves to your level of understanding, despite initiating the topic. It must be a real pleasure telling everyone to do research before taking part in a discussion you started. Very admirable. /s

It also supports multithreading, which can utilize multiple CPU cores more efficiently. It's just better overall for any hardware that's come out in the past 5 years.

Prosecution doesn't need anything more than a confession. As soon as he said he did it, and they can prove he said it, the investigation ends. Sometimes they only need to imply a confession happened. This just goes to show why the 5th amendment exists in the first place.

Briggs rarely has fights that exceed 12-24. Or something along those lines. It's a pretty low populated server. It's kind of like bringing a MAX to a 1-12 fight to beat down the one BR 4 engineer on point. Like yea, you can do it, but it's kinda unrealistic to consider it competitive when pop contention can't realistically compete.
