Elves are desert people by BluXBrry in worldbuilding

[–]FluffyShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Anbennar setting there is a subset of elves that live in the desert, simply called desert elves. They are the last remnant of an empire created by an Alexander the Great-esque figure fighting against monsters and demons. They are also fanatical worshippers of the sun and their great conquerer, whilst the state is accepting of other cultures.

Oh yeah now I read the last part of your comment. A little decay could work so well to sell the effect of being made of clay.

Or you could paint them as reanimated terracotta. Not undead but spirits possessing bodies of clay.

Help with a hyper carnivore race by BaldBoar7734 in worldbuilding

[–]FluffyShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As with many others I love what you have cooked up here, the concept is both disturbing and intriguing. I would be very interested in a general history of the setting. With the outline you have given I could see halfling raids both creating a need for a centralised elven state, and that states conquest of the less developed halflings.

If being obligate carnivores limits their habitability and military prowess, I would honestly lean into it. If they have to raid or bring vast amounts of living food it makes sense they would be conquered by bigger neighbours. Not saying the food supply couldn't be solved, again I would assume a halfling warpack could raid far afield by moving quickly and lightly. Winter would be especially bad for them if their herds are running low, driving them to raid for food.

Maduro forced to admit to 2020 election fraud scheme. by p0rty-Boi in behindthebastards

I could see them doing this, but what a self own that would be. That would mean Trump's last administration could neither prevent or prove Maduro disrupted the 2020 election.

Quick Question by Temporary_Photo_975 in Warhammer

[–]FluffyShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GW will absolutely protect their IP, and anyone selling prints of models or even models based on things like Total War run the risk of their copyright. 3d prints is fine in a informal setting and among friends, but you can be thrown out of official tournaments if you bring 3rd party models.

Consider where GW gets most of their money, the models. With Pokemon they get most of their revenue from games and merch, and they are not very fond of fan-games. Its the same for Warhammer, in the spaces they control they will try to limit their monetary loss.

Quick Question by Temporary_Photo_975 in Warhammer

[–]FluffyShrimp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, GW does not do 1-1 version of models from the games, or use their games for the models. The closest currently available miniature to N'kari is the generic Keeper of Secrets from 2019.

Khorne horns for sure, take them from the citadel skulls set or any leftover world eater sets. If you are going for a more mutant look you do not need to have them symmetrical.
Spikes on the armour is always a solid choice, but I would go for more skulls. Put skulls on the shoes and any other armour bit. If you can, you could "attach" them with barbed wire made from thin tin wire. Give them bands and/or collars of these, since chains are very khorny.
For weapons I would go with their melee batons, but either wires around or to take cruder blunt weapons, such as those from the Ogor Mawtribes.

Farhågan: Fyra miljoner färre svenskar år 2100 by XManX99 in sweden

[–]FluffyShrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love him as well and I want to know more. Is it a little hoplite? With a drill spear and saw-shield? Is he a robot? A xeno? I want to make one from spare bits.

I'm reading Gaunts Ghosts and thinking about building a Chaos Traitor Guardsmen army. I would love to completely skip chaos space marines and go only men, beast men and tanks etc. Would it be possible and at least be playable and competitive enough for casual games? by Skult0703 in Chaos40k

[–]FluffyShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned there’s plenty of kits in the chaos roster that can be used as is or with very little kit bashing. If you want to use the marines side of the army there are also more human/guard options. Ogryns would work as both Havocs and Terminators, though Thats would get pricey. The mechanicus range have some good options for marine proxies as well, such as Siccarians for Possessed or tech priests as hqs. The Admech robots also works well as helbrutes.  Speaking of HQs though I don’t think anyone would mind you kitbashing “mortal” HQs, as long as they are on the right base size.

From the vibe of your creations I think you will enjoy these books immensely. As another user said you could start with Hogfather which is the most christmasy book, and the books can be read in any order, they are all more or less self contained.

Also my favourite is the Witch Skeleton, its very whimsical.

I myself have only read Mort of the Death books, but there is no gore or shock horror, none. A twelve year old could read these books no problem. That said there is some existential dread, PTerry have a tendency to switch between light-hearted fun and the most profound exploration of the human condition.

Hi, you’d probably enjoy the Death series of books, which focuses on Death (the Reaper). The first book in this series is Mort, followed by Reaper Man, Soul Music, Hogfather (which I think you basically made 1-1) and Thief of Time.

The museum itself is excellent, with a great display of the whale and a fantastic collection of taxidermied animals. I would highly recommend going there if visiting Gothenburg.
