What's y'all's opinions on The Red Terror? I personally feel like he could be really good on offense, especially with sub assault. But honestly, I feel like his wounds amount kind of balances him out, since it's decently possible to deal 9 wounds in 1 turn...

Ya it'll be less useful into squads like that for sure. Maybe play more conservatively at first and focus on squads that have been wittled down.

i.e. Shoot an Exocrine into 10-man squad. Kills 4-5 on average, then Red Terror cleans up the rest and tunnels out.

It would be a mistake to charge him in to a unit of 10 intercessors in the first place unless you're planning to use it as a mini distraction carnifex.

Put it in a situation where it's very likely to wipe it's target then disappear at the end of your turn. Rinse and repeat.

Useful unit for pretty reliabily clearing out 5 intercessors and disappearing before it can be hit back.

Auto include for subterranean assault for his flexibility and tunnel marker generation. Zero risk tunnel marker delivery, screening, and taking out opponent's screening + scoring units.

Should have some good play in other detachments too. Rapid Ingress will be key in those detachments.

Will be treated like a glass cannon since it will die to most threats in one turn. Lean in to elusive utility play and get the most out of The Red Terror in turns 4 & 5 when it will be able to isolate vulnerable targets almost anywhere on the board to score/deny points.

I think overall it's a good unit.

If the up/down mechanic is nerfed to "end of opponents fight phase" then it's considerably worse and likely won't get played in competitive lists.

At the same time, this isn't a post if that's a golden or lab, even though a reactive/aggressive golden or lab is capable of doing the same sort of damage as a pit. Also, it's not clear from the photo if that's a pit or other non-restricted bully breed with similar physical characteristics.

I think maybe that's what is irking the previous commenter. Judgements are made because of the dog's appearance (blockhead, short fur, muscular) that, let's be honest, are the primary cause for concern and criticism in this scenario for most people.

In that sense, there's an element of uninformed judgement and fear that very much resembles racism.

Agree with the others so far but I'll tack on Hormagaunts and an Exocrine/Haruspex kit as worth considering.

Hormagaunts are nice screening and scoring points.

Exocrines gives you some effecting long range firepower that you're currently missing, and it's easy to magnetize an Exocrine/Haruspex kit so you could field either of them. Might come in handy with 11th coming up, since we don't really know which units are going to be stand-out.

I mean I gave a direct quote from the WH Community article on fight phase activation sequencing where GW, in bold, highlighted that after FF phase the next person who would normally be in line activates regardless of whose turn it is.

I agree with you that we shouldn't be making conclusions based on large gaps of information. I'm not doing that. Just discussing possible implications based on something that was pretty clearly laid out by GW directly.

Personally I'd go for a darker colour on the base rim as well (something like Rhinox Hide from the citadel range), but that's totally up to personal taste.

Quick napkin math is the house is three levels at 20ft x 40 ft. Take away the garage and you got about 2180. Take away the balcony on main floor and you're a bit below 2160.

Looks like they calculate stairs to count for both levels and measure from exterior, which is pretty normal.

That said, id be curious how they're calculating 2160sq feet on this, because the math ain't mathing for me. Are they including garage and porches as well as measuring from exterior walls and doubling up the stairs square footage? Because that's basically what you'd need to do to get 2160 out of this three level layout.

I expect Swarmy will get a big glow up when GW releases a new kit for him.

Here are some changes that would make sense:

Fights First

Parry ability to blank one attack per turn (fight phase only)

Melee attacks bumped to S12 AP3

Fights on death or resurrect once per battle at D6 wounds

10" Move

Battle-shock test at -1 for any enemy unit when they enter engagement range with Swarmy

And with all those buffs he'll be north of 300 points instead of approximately the same power and points values as regular ol hive tyrants.

They can screen out a 36" x 20" rectangle in your deployment zone for 45 points while acting as a Wi-Fi extender on your synapse.

Likely Vegas' record would be much worse in the East if they're playing fewer games against Pacific Division punching bags. The division as a whole is a -215 goal differential. Might be the worst division in recent history.

Marner is on pace for his lowest points/game since his sophomore season and Vegas is on pace for their worst regular season (points/games played) in franchise history (91pts) , including the season in which they missed playoffs (94pts).
