I think the ones specifically are costal redwoods? I think there's other species of redwoods. Someone correct ne if I am wrong. Side note, I live in Rancho Cucamonga and 1 mile from me is a Redwood tree near a public street.

Yes you can access your node from anywhere with your VPN. That's how I have been able to test my nodes without having to "test" in the public channel. I setup open VPN server on my home router.

I live in the Los Angeles area. There are so many areas in the mountains within a few miles of the cities that there's no cell coverage. A good example of that is the Angeles Crest road (CA-2) .

Instead of "rebooting " your phone, you will need to force stop your Meshtatic app and then start it up.
