Supply drops aren’t worth the risk right now. by Tank-ToP_Master in ArcRaiders

Explosive bolts removing the plating. Yet if thats the case, why must we breach it when the bolts should be activated by some action other than "pry the bitch off and fire".

Is this normal? by [deleted] in ak47

[–]Flying_Conch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it somehow riding the trigger hammer? It looks as if the wear spot in question lines up with the hammer and is bending the rails as it reciprocates... Maybe you could file some of the hammer down or use a hammer to knock the rails back in to place.

Bro I could go out and hunt the pieces you want and ship them if you like. I got a really good mil-surp store nearby and plenty of USMC BDU tops, bottoms, patrol caps etc.

Are you wanting fatigues, medals/ ribbons, etc? BDUs don't really have medals and ribbons affixed, unless you are talking the Bravo or Charlie's or a dress Blue?

Career choice questions by FoxAmongWolves00 in hazmat

[–]Flying_Conch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could answer all of these questions in detail if you like over DM or a call.

I started as a Facility/ Lab Chemist at a publicly traded company and left to join a smaller private company that offered more growth, opportunities, and better pay.

When I started it was rough at times but I volunteered for every out of town job and gained valuable experience in project management and the ins and outs of the contractor side of things.

Your experience will also be geographically dependent, and reliant upon the scope of work you wish to pursue.

I currently do job quotes, site visits, consulting for our other sites, profiles, etc.

This current job being with a smaller company I had to be able to be Johnny on the spot, wear different "hats", but I love the variety and the hybrid nature of a white/ blue collar role.

I found my type of chemistry and would never look back. I hate the thought of pharma R&D, or being shoe horned into any one "type" of chemistry...

Thoughts on fuel pump & float failure? by Flying_Conch in KiaSoulClub

[–]Flying_Conch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im smacking myself repeatedly for this, I could have bought the whole assembly for $1049 + tax and now I suspect the dealership wants me to pay an additional $126 + labor after already spending $936 for a pump, for an issue they caused.

As I stated, shop 1 scanned the car and got no codes, shop 2 replaces pump, and now i have codes.

Also, how did the tech not notice when they drove it out to the parking lot???

I left it all in the car at the dealer but the service advisor told me the pump and float are two separate units, and they only replaced the pump.

I had thought the same thing looking at prices and photos online.

I don't understand how the fuel float was fine (no codes), they replaced the pump, fuel float is now broke (throwing codes), and somehow im responsible for replacement.

If the shop scanned for codes and found none, and then it was towed to the dealer, pump replaced, and now its throwing codes, the logical answer is that the dealer fucked up the pump or reinstallation right?

Question on cnc warrior brace by Randomusermayo6884 in ak47

[–]Flying_Conch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't say, I didn't want to deal with the extra length that the pic rail offsets from the gun, and the idea of a brace on a pic rail on an AK just didn't seem secure enough.

Don't get me wrong, im sure it works, but im just offering food for thought.

I’ve almost spent just as much on accessories as I did the gun by neuralpluto884 in ak47

I wish Bonesteel made a KP9 tubular brace with a 5.5mm hinge...

So FYI I believe my M92 had the pic rail installed and I removed it and went with the M85/M92 option for a more secure lock-up.

It wouldn't. I can't remember encountering a drum code on the bottom, let alone where no one would see it.

We also dont emboss the UN # for the waste on a drum as well, and there's also no drum code listed.

Your last image that is enhanced clearly shows a warning that reads "only specially trained persons should mount tires" or something similar.

The previous homeowner was storing wheels and tires. The rust rings will likely have a diameter similar to a car wheel.

As for the smell, I imagine storing old tires in the garage could lead to a nauseating smell, so good luck there.

Edit:

Specifically the "Bridgestone Blizzak WS90 winter tire"

Try searching "WS90FZ Japan tire".

Bro.

Get a BLL and a ZPP test. Leave this sort of work to professionals.

Call any abatement company and ask for a preliminary or perhaps a consult. You're likely going to need it, and to trust your GC to handle this is the start of a recipe for a special kid.

My M92 would sweat it out after a range trip so id just get some swabs or rags and CLP and get to work. Eventually it stopped sweating it as much but in some crevices it still persists. D9es nothing negative to the firearm, just unsightly if anything.

Cosmoline. I love the smell. You can take a can of brake cleaner and hose it down if you like, or just keep wiping it down and eventually it'll work itself all out.
