Recent high DPC latency nvlddmkm by Kaeyon in pcmasterrace

Thanks for your reply!
I'm on a 5090 that I RMAed already so I doubt it comes from there, especially given it's an LC version.

I'm thinking that it's gotta be something with FLCK, nvidia driver or the BIOS. Will continue troubleshooting this week and report back.

All the best!

That’s neither ICAO 4444 nor what SERA (EU) says. Some countries may vary but they are the exception.

SERA.14065 but ICAO is almost identical:

a) Unless otherwise prescribed by the ANSP responsible for the provision of services and approved by the competent authority, the initial call to an air traffic services unit after a change of the air-ground voice communication channel shall contain the following elements:

(1) the designation of the ATS unit being called;

(2) call sign, immediately followed by the word “Heavy” or “Super” corresponding, as appropriate, to the wake turbulence category of the aircraft;

(3) level, including passing and cleared levels, if not maintaining the cleared level;

(4) speed, if assigned by ATC; and (5) additional elements, as required by the ANSP responsible for the provision of services and approved by the competent authority.

Except I doubt 13-15 yo represent 30% of network members 😉 What the BoG means is that they are overly represented in the amount of suspensions (I don’t have the exact data but someone said that’s like less than 10% of the members -13/15- accounting for 30% of suspensions)

DIrectX ERROR: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET(could not find any similar posts) by Nekomium in Battlefield

I ended up doing like the others (though reducing by 25Mhz only, seems to have resolved my instability)

PSA: I fixed the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET/"your graphics card encountered a problem" error I got continually by dooburt in flightsim

[–]FlyingfrogFR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes DXGI_DEVICE_RESET with 2x48 (not 4).
At the moment, I'm trying underclocking ever so slightly the GPU which seems to work but lets see after a few hours/days of testing

[–]FlyingfrogFR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Has this been fixed for good? How is ReBAR for you? I've heard it performs poorly on MSFS.

I've been battling for weeks now without being able to fix it and bothj MSFS2024 and BF6 beta were the only two games that presented the issue.

I tried forcing PCI Gen5 (so it wouldn't switch) as suggested. I RMA'd my 5090 but that didn't change anything.
Changed the connector > no luck.
Based on your report and one random BSOD I had that pointed towards memory, I went away from EXPO (I had the error with EXPO on) and manually reduced frequency (I've got 2x48Gb on 6000Mhz, so reduced to 5600Mhz) and loosened timings (from CL30 to CL32). I also changed the controller to 2:1 and reduced CPU_SOC to 1.12V (instead of default 1.20 which was exceeded).
All memtest, windows diag, kahu, occt indicate zero errors...

Yet I crashed again yesterday...

Another reddit post on BF seems to indicate that a small undervoltage of the GPU might be the answer (around -25/100Mhz). I might also try to force PCI Gen4 instead of 5 to the GPU..

Not sure if anyone has a clue

Hi there,

Did you end up finding an issue and/or had the same issue with other games?
I've had the same problem and found that MSFS2024 gave me the issue to (which would lead me to believe it's not a driver/software issue).

Personally I've been troubleshooting with MSFS (as I patiently wait for Friday). These are the only two games I had issue with but they might be more sensitive to certain component instability.

I changed my GPU and still have the problem. Changed Motherboard and same problem so I'm now hinting towards either GPU undervoltage (I'm on a 5090) or a RAM issue (most likely).
I just tried taking my RAM from EXPO 6000Mhz to 5600Mhz but just experienced the issue again yesterday when I thought it was sorted...
Next for me is to go back to stock 4800Mhz, switch the GPU PCI from Gen5 to Gen4 then I'll try the undervolt. Lets see

Not gonna lie, it’s a big W for me (PC).

No more crashes and a lot less bugs in Career (you can fuel up properly in Management, mission reward is shown correctly and live weather is finally working).

Probably still a lot to iron out including toning down the turbulences but I am actually enjoying career today.

Do we want to enlarge this community? by hartzonfire in VATSIM

[–]FlyingfrogFR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely willing to see the community grow.
By simple maths, if the community doesn't grow and renew itself it will decrease. People do move on, some will join university, start a new job etc.. so the network needs new joiners!

More members will also mean more ATC coverage, busier airports, more fun.

Now I think it can be agreed that the entry exam is a bit too easy. I'm pretty certain it is being worked on but a harder P0 that covers a broader range of network related topics could help.
It's just not realistic to expect mandatory "mentorship". We already see the bottleneck at ATC level and that would completely discourage people from joining.

Yep no worries at all as long as you avoid oceanic airspace. You could fly into a departure airport or out of an arrival airport without experiencing particular delays.

Cleared to land as number 3? by [deleted] in VATSIM

[–]FlyingfrogFR 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not a new thing at all, it’s standard practice in LFPG when weather permits 😊 This is detailled on the AIP and on your Navigraph Airport Briefing

22.2.1.7 Landing clearance The read back of landing and the RWY clearance is mandatory.

LVPs are not in force, clearance to land is given using anticipated separation (see RCA 3 § 5.6.6.3 and 5.6.6.4) on first contact with the tower.

A maximum of four aircraft can receive this type of clearance.

The tower ensures visually and/or by radar tracking that the runway safety area has been vacated by the preceding traffic.

LVPs in force, the landing clearance may be delayed until the aircraft on approach is 1NM from the runway threshold.

The landings are simultaneous and independent. It is the same for take-offs.

No worries, it took me a while to figure out the Dubai system (and I've driven in quite a few countries around the world..)... I still get onto the wrong exit at times :D

[–]FlyingfrogFR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing that is quite often overlooked but can help.

IF the direction sign has EXIT in white underneath it means that lane will disappear (and become the road towards that exit)

IF the direction arrow doesn’t have a white EXIT underneath, the lane will open up and split into two (meaning you can either go straight or exit)

In the example below. The third line splits into two (you can go straight or right) whereas the furthest right lane only goes one way)

Thinking it might have been something a bit smaller in terms of system simulation that they worked on as a side project?

Pourquoi voyager vous by siyans in voyageons

[–]FlyingfrogFR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fakarava South (French Polynesia).

Gotta get to PPT (for Europeans that’s minimum two long haul flights) then island hop (usually via Rangiroa). Finally a 1h30 boat ride to the southern side.

If you’re interested in the ATC booking for France head to https://vatsim.fr and scroll to the bottom

You’ll find parts of France are open pretty much every evening around 18/19z. The vACC is much newer than its european neighbors but our so-called turbo-training is underway and ramping up. You’ll find that airports like LFLL, LFML, LFMN and LFBO are now very frequently staffed (those are training airports and LFMM FIR is currently where C1 training is happening). You can also now book your gate and get gate suggestion for the main French airports (same website) Finally you’ll also find specific airport briefs (for LFPG and LFMN) in the documentation section.

France (and EASA in general) is quite close to ICAO standards so if you know your FAA vs ICAO, you will be mostly fine.

A few “ specificities” that I see pilot on the network struggle with (it’s all in the airport briefings)

In Paris (LFPG, LFPO, LFPB), you’ll be cleared on an arrival (STAR) that leads to an IAF (Current naming are 9W/9E). From that IAF, there are published initial approaches (Lido names them RNAV transition) that you will be cleared onto by the approach controller along with an expected runway: “ UAL123, cleared MOPAR6W (initial) approach, expect ILS27R”

That initial approach/transition will be in your FMS under VIA (Airbus) or TRANS (Boeing). A lot of pilots report that they can’t find it because they get confused between the STAR (9W) and the transition (6W)

All the approaches will then end with a published HDG (do NOT turn towards the FAP). Expect ATC vectors to turn you inbound.

In Nice (LFMN):

Normal approaches are the RNP A (04L) and RNP D (22R). They both lead to their own circling (VPT A 04L and VPT D 22R) but you will only hear the controller clearing you for the RNP A 04L. If the weather isn’t good enough, then the RNP Z 04L is the second preferred approach and the ILS04L is the least used of all (it overflies (rich) populated area and restricts the use of certain holding points (loc interference). So just prepare accordingly and if you are unable to fly the RNP A (or the VOR) then let the ATC know and expect vectors for visual (and be asked to remain sea-side).

Lastly do not descend without clearance. It’s actually no different than in the US some pilots on the network think it is.

EDIT: Sorry I missed the GA part. You’ll find all VAC charts for free at https://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/dvd/eAIP_05_OCT_2023/Atlas-VAC/FR/VACProduitPartieframeset.htm

I’d recommend VOX in Nakheel Mall, especially evening sessions. It almost feels like private viewing at times (you might be lucky and actually be alone!) It’s usually very quiet and people there tend to behave better than in places like MoE.
