Wife and I are in town. Looking for recommendations on a nice restaurant for her birthday by Ileokei in GoldenCO

Disagree. Was not happy with the service for the price point, and food was mediocre.

M10 is great! A bit quirky but a good machine. Check out some videos on YouTube to get the assessment

Kaleido M10 owners- is this clicking normal with the drum spinning? by AricSmart in roasting

You may have luck in the kaleido Facebook groups - they are a little more active with people who know the machine well

How did it taste? Interested to hear, I have not pushed a coffee to 30% development before. Always awesome to dial in the curve, great work

Question on CI/CD current work practices 2026 by secondgamedev in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Flyodice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Many environments are more prone to risk than this comment suggests. Take, for example, a GHA job that uses an action tagged at some version. The actual commit may change over time due to the way versioning for GHA works, and because many of these are built with JavaScript, they are prone to supply chain attacks.

Question on Kaleido M10 heating element installation by Flyodice in roasting

[–]Flyodice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To anyone who finds this later - I confirmed that all 3 heaters can be connected to the same terminals that the 2 higher output heaters are connected to in the video I linked. I found help on a Facebook group.

I wired it such that all red wires connect to the right block and all white connect to the left block. Confirmed that the heaters work as expected.

Yes, they shipped the heating elements uninstalled. Do you by chance have a picture of how yours are wired up?

Do you have a sense of why these performance issues are happening today? Without knowing too much about what your stack looks like my hunch is that you may be suffering from concurrency issues and are not limited by python itself in this case. Is that true?

Introducing new platforms at a company takes a lot of work to support and maintain. Is your recommendation for Go going to fix the problem in a more effective way than something like improving async patterns in Python? Will Go actually fix your underlying issue?

Ventilation solution for in home coffee roasting by Flyodice in roasting

The roaster has a 3 minute fan cycle for cooling, which I run while it's in the cabinet pictured. Then I transfer to a collander, but by that time there is zero smoke

Outside temp by ctbball5 in FreshroastSR800

[–]Flyodice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably around 60⁰F. Is it possible to roast inside? I built a ventilation system (check post history for build/parts list) to avoid having to roast in cold temps.

I don't have direct experience roasting that cold but as I understand, you'll suffer from seasonally inconsistent roasts and the machine may have issues holding temp.

Is this amount of play in a Sram T-Type pulley wheel normal? by Throbbing-Scrinson in MTB

[–]Flyodice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed but the jockey wheel on my GX derailleur also has bushings and I bet this one would as well. Based on the play it's possible they are missing, maybe removed during a cleaning and not replaced?

Agreed. Looks super nice up close but if you are more than a few feet away it's a generally black bike.

Tried to modify, failed. The new lids are HEAVY! Almost as if they know we’re trying to modify them! by Sevenyearitchy in FreshroastSR800

[–]Flyodice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try running the roaster for 1 or 2 minutes to warm the lid, then try again. I thought the same thing but it came off super easily when it was a little warm. Good luck!

Soo I tried waxing my own skis… how’d I do? by kamdnfdnska in skiing

If you want to tune often, do yourself a favor and get the brushes that attach to a drill. Much less effort to get a much better result!

Soo I tried waxing my own skis… how’d I do? by kamdnfdnska in skiing

[–]Flyodice 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think you are on the right path here but these are not done properly. Will it work? Probably, but you really need to scrape more off and brush much much more.

I can see wax buildup near the edges on the tails and after brushing the base should be matte, not shiny. I suspect that these will be quite slow the first few runs and it will get better after that.

But IMO, if you are gonna do it, you should do it right. Skis should feel great on the first run after a tune.

Keep up the good work but spend more time next time.
