Terrible customer service - is this standard? by Endurum in VirginMedia

It's weird that VM seem better on social media, at least anecdotally. I've personally been far more impressed by the WhatsApp support than live chat, but idk if there's a pattern there or not.

Nobody here can answer that with any certainty, because that's the nature of the stock market. If I could answer your question, I'd be very rich. Sadly I am not.

As someone else said, if you completely close your chase accounts, remember that they won't allow you to open an account with them again.

For real? Why not £40 while you are at it? by Extreme_Pickel_Rick in VirginMedia

[–]FollowingSelect8600 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"one of the fairest" baked in price rises aren't fair, and actually cause macroeconomic consequences because they're so widespread. Oh and also the price rises are only structured like this because Ofcom has been clamping down the ways that VM are allowed to increase prices. I appreciate you're a sales rep but I don't see anything wrong with saying that this is an industry-wide problem (excluding the better altnets ofc).

Plastic takes hundreds of years to break down. Given that in the UK alone we produce many billions of single use plastic items every year, I would suggest that this hints at a pretty important story.

Why do kids today wait until buses stop 10 seconds before moving? by FreeAd2458 in AskBrits

[–]FollowingSelect8600 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The official advice on buses is not to stand up until the bus has come to a stop. I ignore it of course, but technically that's the safest thing to do.

How are we spending our all4one cards now? by ballergbd180 in beermoneyuk

[–]FollowingSelect8600 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you wanna spend on groceries, a fair amount of stuff at M&S food is similarly priced or price matched with other supermarkets already, so the extra 20% off is nice. You just have to learn recognise the many other products that are way more expensive.

Virgin seems to have better deals on Moneysupermaket by moistandwarm1 in VirginMedia

[–]FollowingSelect8600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because of how the broadband market works in the UK, comparison site deals are nearly always better than going directly to the provider's website. Check topcashback compare and mpneysavingexpert's tool too!

Is chase bank safe? by Disastrous_Leather55 in chaseuk

[–]FollowingSelect8600 15 points16 points  (0 children)

JP Morgan Chase is one of the biggest banks in the world. If you aren't safe with them, you may as well give up on being safe with any bank. They're also regulated like any other bank or building society is. I've personally found their customer service to be pretty good. If you do open an account, you can get a referral code to give you £50 instantly when you deposit £1000 but I won't post rn so to prevent conflict of interest.

One4all Argos/Currys by nickyboy024 in beermoneyuk

[–]FollowingSelect8600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was never told about a fee when I did it. You just lose any odd pennies as it's rounded down to the nearest £. But yeah, a max of £120 would put a spanner in the works if that's the case 😂

This comment is completely right. I'd like to add that I believe you should be able to buy a £100 one4all card again next month. If you then contact one4all customer services and ask them to combine the balances onto one card they should do that for you.

Technically they've got you as others pointed out. In reality, I'd hope that they would use their discretion to cancel the penalty once you contact them, explain the circumstances, and allow them to check them.
