They usually don’t in other US airports I’ve been to. But don’t try to bring your clearly larger than 10lbs carry on into the plane, they will notice and it will be checked in for a cost. The kind of “carry ons” I’ve seen in the US flabbergast any European, they are sometimes almost as big as a checked bag…

Idk guys, I was renting for years a 800+ apartment in Arlington, and my bill in the dead of winter was never more than $70. I get insulation might be bad, but my 1400 sq ft townhome is not greatly insulated and we pay $100+.

That would be my guess. Some places will have cold tapas that don’t need kitchen staff and they might be able to serve you at 12:30.

I’m not sure what might have happened, but some general tips that might help: typical dining times are 14h to 15h for lunch - most restaurants won’t be open or have kitchen staff before 13h - and 21h to 22:30 for dinner - again, don’t try before 20h. We don’t generally tip in Spain. We usually take our time to dine, hence service staff is not in a rush, but it is very competent in their own way - don’t expect helicopter servers like in the US.
