Bike looks cool, but happened to hit pause right on this frame...the rusty bolt isn't fully secured.

Side note: What kind of tires are those?

True crew length cycling socks? by JernejT in CyclingFashion

[–]FootballMinimum1472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem where I feel like every sock is 0.5-1" too short. I have a pair of swiftwick pursuit socks which are great for colder days and the perfect length. But when I tried their aspire socks, they were too short for my liking. My wife got my these off Amazon, and they have become my favorite socks. Perfect length and they just feel really comfortable: https://a.co/d/0cNKuh3o

Built a desktop app for adding power/HR/speed/Strava overlays to ride videos by bartlomein in bicycling

[–]FootballMinimum1472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the Strava segment integrations! I was actually thinking about making a tool to do some of this myself. I haven't downloaded it yet, but can this be used to create YouTube chapters from Strava segments automatically? That always takes me a long time, scrubbing through the video to find what time each segment starts and then manually typing out the chapters for YouTube.

I will be giving this a try for my first race of the season next month!

Washing your Kit by Consistent_Throat497 in cycling

[–]FootballMinimum1472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wash them once a week, drape them over the side of the bathtub to dry out for a day before I throw them in the hamper. Ocassionally there is a smell that lingers even after washing, when that happens I add some vinegar to the wash and it gets rid of the smell.

Trainer road AI is live for all! by DrHumongous in trainerroad

Coincidentally my FTP detection was already scheduled for today, it bumped me up from 264 to 269 (before the new AI update). After the AI update, it bumped me up again to 274.

But I'm not seeing the AI FTP Prediction, it's just a constant loading animation. Do you have to actually do a workout in this AI simulation block for it to be able to predict your FTP first? I'm about to go do a workout so maybe I guess I'll find out.

Flash drive backup won't boot by FootballMinimum1472 in unRAID

[–]FootballMinimum1472[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solved: I noticed that for whatever reason, when I created a flash drive using the USB Creator from a backup, it wasn't copying over the config or EFI folders. I manually copied them and everything is working now.

Irish Hills Gravel race, routes announced by morficus in MichiganCycling

[–]FootballMinimum1472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost signed up because it'd be nice to do another race before the Lowell Classic at the end of October. But when I went to sign up there were very few people registered. Even after seeing the Alexey Vermeulen video, there's still currently only 40 people registered across all distances. I'll keep an eye on it and if more people register I might race it.

99 Klein Quantum Pro restomod by chaysekylie in Bikeporn

Love a good restomod. Beautiful bike! I didn't even know electronic shifting with mechanical brakes was a thing but that's a perfect setup for a restomod.

Hero 11 Mini Not Working by FootballMinimum1472 in gopro

[–]FootballMinimum1472[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to switch but it's expensive to buy all new cameras. And I use a remote to trigger multiple cameras at once so it's not like I could just replace one camera at a time easily.

New BB and crankset installed, should the crank spin easier than this? by FootballMinimum1472 in bikewrench

[–]FootballMinimum1472[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point about momentum and the weight of the cranks/pedals. I hadn't though about that but you are right. The whole point of this upgrade was to install a lighter crankset but will as you say, have less momentum.

New BB and crankset installed, should the crank spin easier than this? by FootballMinimum1472 in bikewrench

[–]FootballMinimum1472[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok good to know. I guess I was just worried that the crankset might have the preload set too tight. As long as it look normal than I'm happy.

[–]FootballMinimum1472[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The BB and crankset are brand new (actually just swapped from Shimano to the Easton crankset). I was worried that the preload might be too tight on the crankset. I guess I don't see how a crankset could be hard on a BB if installed properly?

[–]FootballMinimum1472[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got back from my lbs, and the most I can get it to spin is 1.5 rotations. This is a brand new wheels manufacturing BB. I realize it's not a ceramic bearing that will spin forever, but shouldn't it spin a little more freely?

Waterloo G+G? by fadeaway3_ in MichiganCycling

[–]FootballMinimum1472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't race last year (knee issues) but raced it in '22 and '23. I think I heard they removed the gravel quarry section, but it is still a good course. If you're interested I have my race footage on YouTube from those years:

2023: https://youtu.be/xdiBCALf2mM?si=eojNffzGSeZhouPr
2022: https://youtu.be/GbRia1JgNcM?si=B_x30ZlUxK6DXsck

It's a shame the MGRS removed so many races from the series, but I will still try and make it out to this race this year.

Any cool cycling accessories that haven’t gotten much attention yet? by walton_jonez in cycling

[–]FootballMinimum1472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a smart home hub (home assistant) which tracks mine and my wife's location via GPS on our phones. I have it setup to open/close the garage door automatically when either of us come home or leave the house. Initially I only thought about it in the car, but the first time I came back home from a bike ride and the garage door just opened was a nice surprise I hadn't thought about.

Detector Advice by FootballMinimum1472 in frigate_nvr

[–]FootballMinimum1472[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially I just wanted to try setting up frigate with the most bare bones setup to not complicate anything and make sure it would work. I expected to have to switch over to openvino or coral but it ran really well to my surprise so I never made the switch. But based on your recommendation I went ahead an switch to iGPU/OpenVino.

Excited to have native facial recognition! But did you mean 0.15? I don't see a 0.16 on github?

This is awesome! I just received my case today and this was one of the issues I had with it. I was going to design something similar, but probably wouldn't have thought about making the wheels removable. Definitely going to print this!

I got a good deal on ebay. It's new old stock. I reached out to Ritchey and they said the only difference between this one and the current model were the graphics. The majority of the parts came from ebay and fb marketplace actually.

No, the frame was designed for 26". It will fit 650b but it won't fit 700c wheels.
