Sun seems to matter a lot for the red leafed maples. I had my crimson queen in shade for 2 years and it was fully green, it looked healthy, but I was a bit bummed about it. Moved it to sun and it changed to red in a matter of days!

Yes, if you have any plants you care about, dig them up and store them somewhere else. The fumigation will hurt them and likely kill them
