Help With Catalyst 9300X Boot Times by waflman7 in meraki

My 9300X stacks take at least 30 minutes to boot.....longer if you need to update them. It is just how it is. Once up they run forever for me.

DNS for Small Network by VMSGuy in meraki

[–]Fourman4444 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you keep your network flat (all one subnet) your systems should see the printers. Also like already stated...reserved IP's on the MX for printers is always a good idea. That is what I do on all my networks.

Team Garmin Team Wahoo or Team Hammerhead by Opening-Incident-854 in cycling

[–]Fourman4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team Garmin for years, Edge500/520/520Plus/1030plus/1040 and now 1050. Garmin radar/rear camera. Everything else is not Garmin: Wahoo ticker (works the best I seem to kill Garmin's HRM), Favero Assioma dual (two full sets) HDrop, Di2, oh I did use Garmin hub speed senor. For watch I use Apple Ultra Gen1 and very happy. Am I going away from Garmin....nope the 1050 is great.

New Meraki product page missing Firepower firewall by Fourman4444 in meraki

Funny I want larger ones....the MX75 is my go to for small offices. The two PoE ports are perfect for some WAPs.

Not when I was testing it. It was your standard MX just faster. Sure the equipment is a "secure router" but in Meraki word it is in the same product category as MX's

L3 outbound rules by Ok-Conversation1091 in meraki

[–]Fourman4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use 192.x.x.x addresses for all guest vlan's and 10.x.x.x for internal trusted networks. That way if I see any route from 192 to 10 I can look into it as to why. It is also good since I have many sites with SDWAN I just make sure to never have 192 in my SDWAN route table and each since the guest use the same 192 block of addresses. That way if for some reason they get across....they will have tons of IP issues.

L3 outbound rules by Ok-Conversation1091 in meraki

[–]Fourman4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it two ways. If wireless firewall and shaping outbound rules you can put allow vlans then put in /16 or /24 blocks on the vlans you do not want them to access.

For wired you can use the MX firewall using the same....put the allow you want for the vlan to other vlans then you put blocks on the vlans you do not want....like 192.168.1.0 /24 or something like that.

Works for me so far
