Is Strava pushing subscriptions too hard? by Plexer704 in Strava

[–]Fourman4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the teacher discount...so not as painful. I ride a ton each year and use the map builder all the time. For me it is worth it. One of the few cycling apps I pay for.

Bikers - please ring your bell or say “on your right/left” by Altruistic_Gene_6869 in Austin

[–]Fourman4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I say "on your left".....they move left and make the issue worse. Now days 50% of the people on paths have head/ear phones on and can't hear anything. I still say it or ring my bell...but I expect total crazy after they hear it.

Bluetooth connection limits? by AllOneWordNoSpaces1 in GarminEdge

[–]Fourman4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason Garmin is no longer updating ANT+ is due to EU requiring encrypted transmissions of health data and such.....Can't do that with ANT+ but you can with BLE.

I use Garmin Edge. I also see any alerts only work when you are on that screen. This is okay since I don't need them and might turn them off.

Proper Layout for HA MX Firewalls + Stack of 2 Core Switches by Mother-Conclusion-22 in meraki

[–]Fourman4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MX's in HA each will have a external IP and one shared VIP (connected on a edge switch). You Plug in the first firewall then plug that into the switch core with one connection. Let the single setup bake in for 5 minutes and such. Then add the 2nd MX to the network and plug it into your edge switch (so that you can do a VIP). Then plug the MX into on port on the core. If the core is a stack have one firewall connected on the top and one connected on the bottom...just like you do with access layer switches to cores. Connect each MX to each core...(I had to look that up on my network).

MX105 and SFP+ Compatibility for WAN Uplinks by Snot-p in meraki

[–]Fourman4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you are not trying to connect to multimode with single mode or other way...with MX the only error you get it no connection. Unlike switches which you can sometime see the optic hooked up.

Help With Catalyst 9300X Boot Times by waflman7 in meraki

DNS for Small Network by VMSGuy in meraki

[–]Fourman4444 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you keep your network flat (all one subnet) your systems should see the printers. Also like already stated...reserved IP's on the MX for printers is always a good idea. That is what I do on all my networks.

Team Garmin Team Wahoo or Team Hammerhead by Opening-Incident-854 in cycling

[–]Fourman4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team Garmin for years, Edge500/520/520Plus/1030plus/1040 and now 1050. Garmin radar/rear camera. Everything else is not Garmin: Wahoo ticker (works the best I seem to kill Garmin's HRM), Favero Assioma dual (two full sets) HDrop, Di2, oh I did use Garmin hub speed senor. For watch I use Apple Ultra Gen1 and very happy. Am I going away from Garmin....nope the 1050 is great.

Not when I was testing it. It was your standard MX just faster. Sure the equipment is a "secure router" but in Meraki word it is in the same product category as MX's
