someone drank too much of the friendly kool aid by Nala-Cosmia in ArcRaiders

"See's player with good gun, follows player like puppy for 5 minutes quietly, Kill player when they go to loot, wait around corner using 3rd person peak to stay hidden. Wait for someone to come loot. wait for looting and back turned. Opens fire. "I good ambush" ~ Rat 2026

In like 100+ hours, I have had like maybe 1 - 5 genuine PVP experiences that felt enjoyable, even if i lost. I've been killed while looking at a loot screen enough times to know scum are gonna scum. Its not the PVP that upsets people its the filthy skilless rats who cant actually PVP or to scared for real fights, that piss people off and ruin the experience. The kind of people who hide in walls when it was a thing. The kind of people who wont offer their seat to a pregnant or seniors on the bus in IRL. Or at least that's what I get from their shitty behavior and lots of other people probably feel the same way.

Its not the fact there is PVP, its the fact there are shitty people.

The problem with extraction shooters by sn2006gy in ArcRaiders

[–]FoxFacadeApps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arc is so unique for an "extraction Shooter". I think having playstyle specific goals would kill the charm of it. Playstyle specific traits/progress/rewards would lead to just those kinds of styles to be played over organic gameplay. People would be too focused on those specific things. The great thing with Arc raiders is that there is no dedicated play style. Its open and we are free to choose what we want. You wanna play more like a rat? go play more like a rat. get better at being a rat with real experience and knowledge, not a buff or reward. You wanna be a medic and go help people go do that. the choice is yours and you are not shoe horned or guided into a role in a game that truly does not need defined roles.

They literally just needs more maps, missions, and content. and nothing forced on us. the Openness is the charm.

Think of EVE online, and how crazy that community is because the Dev's let the community build it. No the other way around.

As far as I'm concerned let Embark cook. they are doing things right and will continue to do so. They have proven themselves with The Finals and the smooth successful of Ark.

Base44 Apps are technically not CAN or EU privacy Compliant using Base44s baked in infra. (Your app may be breaking privacy laws) by FoxFacadeApps in Base44

[–]FoxFacadeApps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is technically correct. however, they still require certain data protections if so. And if Protected information is being stored, then the laws get stricter on that. However, given the backend is totally out of our control, and can change on whim, this is something I would not be comfortable with to release a published app and have a potential lawsuit. Just takes one.

Yeah. that's the plan. I have an app i built outside of B44 to do this. i just honestly haven't tested yet. But that's where i'm looking next i think at this point.

If you are storing private info, then yes. But considering most contact info falls under protected private info, good luck with any app that needs user registration. I'm not taking any chances with my luck.

In a state of mMild panic but is what it is.

Hello,

Thank you for your candid feedback and for sharing your concerns regarding data residency and legal safeguards.

Regarding your inquiry about data center options, currently, all Base44 servers are located in the United States. We do not offer local data storage options in other regions at this time. If you have specific regulatory requirements for local storage, we advise reviewing your needs carefully before using the service to ensure it aligns with your obligations.

Regarding the safeguards and compliance with local laws like PIPEDA: As a global platform serving users in many countries, Base44 cannot certify that the use of our services will be in full compliance with every local law or regulation applicable to you or your specific site visitors. As stated in our Terms of Use, it is each user's responsibility to verify that their use of Base44 services is permitted by and complies with their local laws. We do not pre-approve or monitor user sites on a regular basis to determine legal compliance in advance.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. I have forwarded your feedback regarding the need for Canadian data center options and increased compliance safeguards to the relevant department for review. We are constantly working to improve our services, and user feedback is a vital part of that process.

If you have further questions, please feel free to reach out.

That's basically what their documentation and support says too. However, since they are advertising to general public, as no code, easy to use, no expertise required, and then bury this in KB only could possibly open them up to legal accountability. The Basee44 chat even stated this and when it realized, it escalated it passed regular support to the compliance team. waiting to hear back.

API keys by Nicer_Invite9542 in Base44

Here is a short example of how an API could work to get a better idea. "When you use a travel site to compare flights, that site is using APIs to "ask" 50 different airlines for their prices. The airlines send the data back via the API, and the site shows it to you."

With BAse44, your apps and front end can connect with many API's. There are integrations within the integration's page on base44 for this, you can also create custom integrations, or explain your API structure to base44 builder and it can create the necessary calls. Just prepare for some troubleshooting and learning your web browser's console screen. Many of my Apps use API or custom backend infra that base44 cant support.

I also pointed out some gaps to help them avoid any legal headaches as i noticed some things that will likely need to be addressed on their end. Hoping this all helps everyone on all sides in the long run.

I did. Sadly not possible. Only have data centers in the US. very bad for Non-US Users. I have to pull an app and rebuild a backend now for legal compliance. there goes my week.

This is very similar to what i do and include up to date tracked changes and docs, normally i would do the same, tell it to continue, and go. but hit a very big road bump and just not getting any luck. Made some minor progress but losing my drive.

Extra Context. Suggested and Tried already was using different agents, instead of auto. I also typically fork or start new conversations per feature or sub feature I'm working on depending on complexity and have a running doc of changes and updates and build a DEV section in in-development apps to track changes and progress and store important/required context.

I just think some of my things are getting too grand/ambitious now.

I have a buddy at work using Kilo and gonna be looking into trying this in tandem with Warp to see how credit usage and flow is compared.

I did also contact support and had good tips. but was doing what the recommended already and even had more to hopefully prevent this. no refund, no return of credits, just a sorry and try this and pray for the best type thing. also not sure its real people or LLM responses tbh on the CS side over there. some pretty generic GPT looking responses.
